You guys have been coming up with some cool ideas for a removable Negative-man. Its not easy to come up with something that is both comic accurate AND simple.
I think following the same principles as other previously made removable characters is the way to go.
Are we going to see a Doom Patrol subtheme in the next DC set?
What is the next set? JLA? I know Wizkids is going with a Batman movie clix but it won't be a big set.
If they did do a Doom Patrol subset maybe would could get
1. Beast Boy in Tera-dactyl form
2. Bumblebee
3. A new Elasti-girl

YES! I would buy the heck out of a set that included at least a half-dozen Doom Patrol makes/remakes (critical entries - NEGATIVE MAN, Elasti-Girl, Robotman who isn't a waste of points, Bumblebee...and a Pterasaur BB transformation option would be nice too), and at least 4 Brotherhood of Evil (need Madame Rouge, Warp, Phobia, Houngan at least). Seriously, Mssr Mallah, The Brain, and Plasmus is all we get from that team? ARGH!!!
Add in at least 4 Freedom Fighters and I'm in for a case (unless they're all Commons or something, or unplayable). I need at least a Black Condor, Red Bee (either version), and Doll Man.
New 52 I'm only interested in if the characters aren't changed much from their pre-new-52 versions. Other than the Wildstorm Universe characters - I'll take all of those WK cares to make (though if they leave out Grifter, I'll be upset).

Very nice. Like that idea a lot. So long as KOing Larry doesn't score points. You can't win a game one-shotting Monkey Joe or Redwing ad infinitum. "like an object" might be the right way to handle him, indeed. ('Robotman cannot use Larry Trainor in Close or Ranged combat attacks.')
I think combining a double dial to represent either Larry or the Negative form is the best idea - similar to the Morph power or Weapon Swap this would let a player change to Negative form without making Larry completely useless. In short, you start as Larry but "upgrade" to Negative Man at the expense of leaving yourself vulnerable.

BANDAGES: Negative Man cannot be healed. When Larry Trainor is adjacent to Negative Man, Negative Man can use Defend and modifies his attack value by +1.
LARRY TRAINOR: Negative Man begins the game on the green starting line with Larry Trainor attached. When Larry Trainor is KO'd, deal Negative Man one unavoidable click of damage and place Negative man in a square adjacent to Larry Trainor. Attach Larry Trainor to Negative Man's dial.
NEGATIVE MAN: Give Negative Man a power action and remove Larry Trainor from Negative Man and place him in adjacent square. Larry Trainor becomes a bystander token as described on the back of this card. After Larry Trainor is removed, turn Negative Man's dial to the corresponding click number past the Blue start line.
Speed - Negative Form: Negative Man can use Hypersonic Speed and Shape Change. Negative Man ignores blocking terrain, walls, and elevation for movement purposes. Attack - Negative Touch: Negative Man can use Incapacitate. He can use it normally, or he can use its close combat attack as a free action instead of a close combat attack while using Hypersonic Speed. Damage - Radioactive Burn: Damage dealt by Negative Man cannot be reduced below 1. When Negative Man would deal knockback damage, give the target of the attack one token instead.

Ayup -that's Negative Man, all right. Although, while the Enhancement on Larry makes sense for the projection, it doesn't make as much sense for other characters to benefit from it. Perhaps make a +1 damage part of the Bandages trait instead?
