Turning the Dial - When a character assigned a Phoenix Force Fragment is KO'd, attach their Fragment to the resource and immediately click the dial 5 times to the left, moving the dial to the same red click number in the next group. When a character assigned a Phoenix Force Fragment KO's an opposing character or hits with an attack roll that is doubles, after actions resolve, click the dial once, though the Phoenix Force may never be clicked beyond any group's click #5.
So what happens when I get to #5? Do I stop? Go back to #1 in that group? I realize that it reads that it should stop at 5 and go no further, but I've learned that it's never that easy haha.
It stops at five, unless something explicitly says otherwise dials only turn clockwise(or figures only turn counterclockwise or however you want to think about it).
90% of rules questions are answered by RTFC. Most of the rest are answered by a proper grasp of English and common goddamn sense.

Can I assign only 1 character, but have 2 fragments on the resource? So that my one character is assigned one and has one on the base?
Yes, you can. You can have one character and all 5 fragments meaning the figure will have one fragment on its card, 4 on the resource dial and it would start on group 4.

So help me out here. The way I'm reading this, if you have all 5 Phoenix Flames handed out, with none left on the base you start on Blue Number/Group 0. But then one gets KO'd and you turn the dial to the LEFT, which would put you on Blue Number/Group 4-the most powerful group on the dial, and it dwindles from there back down to Group 1. I thought the idea was that as the power of the divided Phoenix Force is shared amongst fewer wielders it becomes more distilled and they become increasingly more powerful. That would happen exactly if it turned to the right and you went from Group 0 to 1 and so on up to 4. I think they got that backwards.

There doesn't seem to be clear language for dial turning direction. The way I see it, turning the dial to the left means the lower portion turns to the left, it is not the figure that turns to the left. Doing it this way means that you would progress from group 0 to 1 to 2, etc.
