Star Trek: Attack Wing
I.K.S. Somraw/Raptor Class Ship
3 of 4 Wave 3 Star Trek: Attack Wing Expansion Packs
Releases: February 2013
Strap yourselves in– it’s going to be a bumpy ride as we take a look at another of the Wave 3 expansions for Star Trek Attack Wing. This week we head to the mid-22nd century to look into the contents of the I.K.S. Somraw Expansion Pack. The nimble Raptor class vessel comes in at 20 points and will be hard to hit thanks to its special ability. Offensively, the Somraw Commander will help the attack ability of the small ship and can prove the strength of his Klingon Honor Elite Talent while doing so.

Photon Torpedoes can also nicely enhance the attack capabilities of the ship. Meanwhile the new Crew upgrade, Bu’Kah, can help keep a ship in the fight by repairing 2 damage to the Hull. The I.K.S. Somraw Expansion Pack also contains two new Tech Upgrades. Shockwave can be used in conjunctions with the Photon Torpedoes to give the ship a surprise movement option to take your opponent off guard. Alternately, Tactical Sensors can be disabled to allow more tactical options for your ship.

Instead of moving normally during the activation phase, you may discard this card and disable 1 of your torpedoes to disregard your chosen maneuver and perform a Red 1[Reverse] full astern maneuver instead.
This upgrade may only be purchased for a raptor class ship.

======================================
Make sure to avoid the Xarantine ale while you are attempting to complete the Escape The Gas Giant mission that is contained within the I.K.S. Somraw Expansion Pack. However you decide to equip the I.K.S. Somraw or transfer crew to other ships within the Empire, players will get great use out of the components. Stay tuned with us next week as we take a look at the final Star Trek: Attack Wing Wave 3 expansion: the I.R.W. Gal Gath’Thong.

Traitors thoughts.........
I don't know.....seems interesting, Bu'Kah is going to be very popular with the Klingons....especially with them cloaking and taking hull damage early on on occasion.
It'll be interesting to see if the generic Raptor Class retains the Tech slot (maybe?) as it would shave a few points off of the D7 swarm by using this instead of the Gr'Oth...and every point is valuable for that fleet.
Shockwave and Tactical Sensors seem neat, but being restricted to the Raptor class ship makes them much less interesting as fleet additions, to me at least.

It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
i don't understand the named ship's text. the ship can not clock and only has 1 agility.
seems point less to me....or am i missing something?
I don't think you're missing anything, sadly.
When we first saw the add in the Game Trade issues a while back a few people had suggested that maybe an upgrade (or two) might be included that boost agility.............but nope.
Maybe in the future?
Until then I suppose there are the Tetryon Emissions, Clark Terrel's and IND Flagship #3 and the like if you want to take more advantage of it.
For faction pure though.....look like it's going to be 6 waves (until Oct and Wave 9) to get the next scheduled Klingon release (Chang's BoP) unless there are some surprises on the way (for example in OP content)......not sure if that's gong to be much help to this ship to get the most out of the ability.

I don't collect any Klingons, but I like the little tricks we have here. Bu'Kah is definitely the main reason to buy as far as I can tell. She'll pair well with Konmel, she helps cloaking ships, and the new Dominion ship would be great for her as well. She has good synergy with the captain, though its a little disappointing that we got a generically named non-generic captain. All things considered, it looks like we have an 18 point ship that can do 5 damage with its own upgrades each round as long as it limits itself to green movement.
The raptor only tricks are cool, but that really limits their versatility. As a Fed though it both confuses me and makes me a little hopeful that we'll see something similar with the NX-01. I mean, for being 200 years out of date with "modern" Klingon ships, it's really not that underpowered.
(I wonder if the NX will have a Suliban cloaking device as an independent cloaking device for any ship...)
Well with the tech slot you can equip it with a cloaking device for 9 points....
I like the upgrades not sure if I'll get two or just one of this, some of the 'ship' upgrades are good but when they are "unique" it's just not worth getting two of those.
With the captain from this expansion, I can see some nice Combo's with secondary weapons with him adding more dice, that's quite nasty nice!
