That is part 1 of 3. The next part is linked at the bottom of each article.
Basically he looks at different models and such from various companies and tries to find the best "feels right" scale of all the ships that have been released and will be released with Attack Wing.
I don't know if he will tackle any of the rules. Those that are sticklers for rules will want to determine base size and such, but I found it to be an interesting read. The blogger implies the same movement templates will continue to work for all the ships and you wouldn't really need to adjust any rules.

That last picture on the second part conveniently leaves out the 4th Division Battleship.
It would be ridiculous to try and play a game of AW with those models in absolute scale.
Interesting articles but it furthers the insanity of "absolute scale"rs
I'm not sure if you gathered this, but he isn't an absolutist. He understands that 1) scale is inconsistent within the trek universe, and 2) even if you know the exact scale its not gonna fit on the table that way. He is trying to get pretty close though, but anything is closer than what WizKids has.
Looks like it would be fun, as long as the rules worked out well.

Hmm, I'm content to play with the minis WK provides us, but I do like the idea of more correctly scaled ships. Personally, though, I'd rather find smaller models of the little ships like Defiant, and stick with the AW models for larger ships (many of which aren't properly scaled to each other anyways, but several are close). The big Eaglemoss and AMT model kits seem unwieldy for gaming purposes, even though they do look quite nice.
