now for infectious lass, chlorophyll kid, stone boy and porcupine pete! seriously, we ought to have an ata for the sub's! also like the immunity to EE.
Big fan of Polar Boy! Sidestep and Barrier is a nice combo that I don't think we've seen yet (def could be wrong, though). I also like the combo of Enhancement and the Trait that nerfs EE. All around, this could be one of my favorite pieces from this set. Great fig!
This figure strikes me as a perfectly mid powered Iceman. Post snowman, pre ice titan, 80's - 90s Iceman exactly. On the upside his TA is wildcard so maybe I'll do a sculpt swap and just lose out on theme.
I freaking love this guy. His trait to stop energy explosion is awesome. If you need to keep a large group of figs safe he is your guy. The double target special incap and barrier on top of the trait make polar boy top tier support figure in my book.
The one figure I wanted to see in this game finally gets made, and I couldn't be happier. I never expected him to be as powerful as he is, but he makes an excellent support figure for Legion and possibly non-Legion builds.
His cost is really taken up by the wildcard ability, flight, the trait, and the special power, because his basic powers and numbers pair up with an AIM Renegade from Incredible Hulk. The trait makes him somewhat more powerful than I imagined him to be in this game, though.
Not that I'm complaining. His costume is based on the Gary Frank redesign from the story arc this set is named after. His late dial leadership represents his time as active leader of the Legion of Super-Heroes, which happened as part of a fan vote in the 1980's Baxter era.
The biggest reason he's a 4 star figure and not a 5 comes from his cost. He's appropriately costed, because the trait & special Incap weigh the figure down for 300 point competitive builds. Considering the character, that is just perfect.
