I fell awful about it, but i'm selling of 70% or so of my clix collection. I will miss my group cause the guys are awesome, but it is really the purchase model.
attack wing - 60$ every two months (45$ every month throughout the summer) If i want to buy one of every ship. Clix was just so much more expensive with so many extra.
It doesn't hurt that I am a WAY bigger trekkie then I ever was a comic guy (althought i love comics)
It is an odd transition for me though.
The universe is governed by a tendency toward disorder, we refer to the quantification of that tendency as Entropy Boston Heroclix
I think AW will take a large chunk of Heroclix players out of the clix game.
I already know one guy who started playing AW but ad to drop AVX bc he couldn't afford both.
I haven't played much clix lately and I find I enjoy AW much more.
Having a fun game like AW to play makes it hard to miss Heroclix.

I'm still playing clix, but I don't get as excited about them as I do Xwing and AW. Deadpool and Days of Future past does have my interest but War of Light and Slosh does not.
The last "major purchase" I made of clix was Watx, now it's just singles. WoL has very little interest for myself and others as we are getting tired of all these events being sealed. When all you run are sealed events, how are you suppose to play with the figures you got from your sealed events previously?
Having AW and X-Wing being WYSIWYG is amazing. I do still enjoy heroclix, the Phoenix Force is my favorite Keyword to use right now, but hearing from venues that the kits cost so much to get and poor attendance, I'm actually surprised SLOSH got sold out.

Today is clix tourney day. I'm taking no clix and packing my x-wing stuff. If someone wants to play X-Wing, awesome! If not, I'm coming home. I have no desire to even attempt to build a team, let alone play.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.
The price points on AW and X-wing end up being much more reasonable than Heroclix. Especially for those poor souls who try and collect everything. At this point I still play Heroclix but I have added X-wing (which is fantastic!) and I have gone back to my "buy singles" mindset.
My close group of clix friends got pretty burned out in the weeks leading up to GenCon. Post GenCon was really bad with all four of us pretty much not playing clix at all. We've since gotten back to playing and having fun but X-wing has taken hold of us.
*Target has X-wing Miniature Starter games for $12 in some locations.
*Its worth noting I have pretty much never had more than 1-2 of each character in Heroclix (Excluding Batman and Spiderman) this has always kept my clix collection "reasonable".
I haven't had to spend any real money on Clix in about 3 years now. I've been selling the product to locals and making enough that I didn't need to buy my own stuff, I'd clear enough to buy a case or two extra for myself without spending anything. Well, now WK has pulled HC from NECA distributors and gone to an Alliance exclusive deal, cutting me out. So I've done the same. I've had more fun with XWing anyway. I'm not selling off my Clix just yet- hell, I have a ton of stuff I've never played and could probably play for years without needing anything new. But my money right now is going to FFG.
And while I love Star Trek and do have some AW, I can't see getting too deep into it because, well, it is WK and right out of the gate they find ways to allow powergamers to rule the roost. Being able to mix and match factions, not just in mixing fleets, but onboard the ships just irritates me. Being able to pick and choose the best of the best to mix and match is just bugs me. And once you add in resources... forget it.
Like the side of the bag says; All game, no chase.
Kind of funny reading this thread. I played SW minis for many years, and bailed only to find myself dabbling into heroclix. I've known of heroclix for ages, but was just never as big of a comic guy as I am a Sci-Fi guy. Now I want to just put together enough heroclix to be able to make a few fun teams to play with friends.
I might look into AW, but I'm not looking to get too deep into any game really. Not like I was with SW minis. The rules got way too complicated and it just lost the joy it once held.

When AW first came out - I was really excited and looked for ways to play more and more. IIM came out and it didn't impress me, although there are some really great things about the set - the low points were just SO low for me.
But with SLOSH, I can't wait to play some clix again! As much as I like Star Trek, comic-books are my first love with fantasy my secret mistress.
I am fine cherry-picking my HC wants, though - just like my Attack Wing wants. I find my money goes farther and I am a lot more satisfied with the purchases.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
