The high movement and his ability to carry four allies makes him a great taxi already. The enhanced super senses make him annoying to waste attacks on. The perplex clicks make him dangerous. A piece you will love to play and hate playing against.

Gates carries 4 Science Police with him that all share the Future keyword with him, and you annoy the crap out of everyone on pretty much the entire map.

zofshadows has an excellent point - Gates is not tiny, so he's standard sized and can be possessed by a WOL entity, granting that corps keyword, making him an excellent taxi for Red Lanterns, Black Lanterns, ... whatever is your preference.
