Based purely on the dial i feel i got to agree with department h on this...bare in mind i'm refering only to the characters dial..got no issue with his trait..so to get on with it..first..theres nl barrier here at all..h mentioned in a different post how wizkids have done a sound job paying respect to the fans of older uncarded figures..nightmare, blizzard to name but a few there remakes were awesome and played on what made the original so great this figure does not do that for avalanche and its a pity..add to tht little annoyancies..mid dial charge..why..just the entire figure why why why.
Where is the Barrier! the old Vet has saved me quite a few times playing the old Freedom Force figs with that power! Love the quake trait. I can understand the Precision Strike referencing that with a Earth Quake its a bit hard to Evade/Transfer/Reduce completely. The close combat expert could be him using the earth around him maybe? lol. Defiantly not the dial I would have expected but gonna be the only Modern Avalanche for now and I love my Brotherhood/Freedom Force teams so he will have to do for now...but I will most likely reach for the old Vet every now and then.
"Now play the insolent. Now, plunder the God's privileges and give them to creatures of a day. What drop of suffering can mortals spare you?"
Very top dial dependent, but boy this is some serious damage potential for the points. TK him into your opponent's cluster for a nasty Precision Strike Quake. No line of fire required either, so works through walls. If he takes a hit he's probably going to be useless for the rest of the game but you could very easily earn his cost in 1 attack and the resulting tie up.
I think he's going to enjoy a TK ride on Catapult Turtle Airlines. Double-tap that Quake bomb!
EDIT: Nope, CT gives a free attack (rather than the action required for Quake). Still not a bad partner, but maybe Cannon Solider would be better.

Reason: incorrect reading of another figure's power
Maybe I'm slow but how exactly does his power work? The five minus part throws me off.
The short answer is that the closer he is to the target, the more damage he deals. So it's 4 damage if he's adjacent (1 away), 3 damage if he's 2 away, or 2 damage if he's 3 away. Does that make sense? ;)
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
This guy has been my MVP on a few teams so far - all brotherhood. That quake range is just beautiful! I used him alone, and with Angrir's hammer - with Angrir's, he's a fully pushable monster.
Question: if he uses it, and then quakes, does he heal 1 click for each target within his range with that Quake (via steal energy)?
We played it that way, it didn't happen much, but it was pretty cool in effect.
Additionally, can't he charge, quake, and then anyone within his range of 3 at the end of his charge = quake-able targets? So, he charges (w/Angrir's Hammer) and quakes, and he actually has a *tiny* range when doing so (ie: 3)?
Anyone else loving the fact that, and correct me if I'm wrong, he doesn't require line of site to quake people 3 squares away from him ?
Huh... good point! Quake is close combat (not requiring LOF unless you're a giant)... verified it does NOT require LOF so it can even work through blocking and on different elevations!

I love this guy!
To answer your questions, yes he can, to both. The Quake + Steal Energy is a combo that was conceived in regards to Dracula to get him healed to his killer first click really quick; as for Charge + Quake, that's always been a combo. Other characters that utilize a similar shenanigan are Thunderball from IIM, with a 3 range quake, and Rictor from WXM, who has a 6 range quake in a line.
