I know that with the rules change your theme must be a Named Keyword for the TTPC benefit, but what about Team Symbols. The Mystics in particular. Almost all characters with the X-men or Avengers team symbol, for example, will have the X-men or Avengers keyword. The characters with the Mystics team symbol however do not have a Named keyword and Mystical is a generic keyword.
So if this was my team:
ASM #46 Ghost Rider
ASM #35 Jennifer Kale
ASM #33 Man-Thing
Would my team be considered a Generic Themed Team(Mystical) even though they all have the Mystics symbol since Mystics is not a keyword?
Only key words determine theme teams. Team abilities have nothing to do with them. So, yes, they are still a generic theme team.
I directly stated that in my post, but the Mystics are a pretty much unique situation I am assuming.
It seems to me that it would put Mystics at a distinct disadvantage compared to other symbol based teams seeing as the majority of figures with a team symbol have the same keyword. I am having trouble thinking of a single X-Men, Avenger, JSA, JLA, or Titan with a symbol that does not share the keyword. Then again the Mystic team ability always seemed to be a bit above the average of most TA's.
I was mainly trying to get a definitive answer before this became an issue at my venue. I am sure there are other examples I have not noticed. Somewhere there has to be a figure that has a symbol for a Named Keyword but no keyword.
Originally both mystics and police TAs only appeared on DC figures. Later they went cross-universe and appeared on Marvel. Then the LotR wizards got mystics too.
This has nothing to do with the OP. I just like telling people random irrelevant information.
There is no symbol for a named keyword. A keyword has nothing to do with the team ability that the character will or won't have. Look at a team ability more like an additional power because thats really all that it is.

I see what you were saying now. This entire thread was coming from a(wrong) belief that prior to this ruling a team would considered themed just by all the figures sharing a symbol. Deff something else I need to clear up then at my venue.
And there are several examples of figures with a "named" keyword TA but not the keyword (eg. GSX Domino) or figures with a "named" keyword but not the TA (there are a few JLA figures that come to mind).
TA doesn't have anything to do with theme teams.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
With all of the different keywords for the Justice League (JLA, Justice League, Justice League Antarctica, Justice League Elite, Justice League Europe, Justice League International, Justice League of America, Justice League Task Force), you could pretty easily make a team where every figure had the JLA team symbol, yet not a single character shared a keyword.
We already established and answer and a reason for the misconception. I was equating keyword with team symbol since it is the symbol and not the keyword that grants TA's, and because at my venue someone fielded a team with a theme bonus based on symbols alone. The situation will be rectified.
