I would say that Splitlip would 'win'. The effect starts when the game begins. Professor X's ability only works on characters who are within his range. At least, that's what I figure.

He doubles power actions. Splitlip gives free action two different things.

If Professor X is within range, then it will be a Double Power Action. Double Power Actions can't be used as Free Actions.

But Splitlip says it was never a Power Action to begin with... Prof X says that Power Actions become Double Power Actions and Splitlip says that they are Free Actions...Prof X does not say that Free Actions become Double Power Actions...

Wouldn't this come down to who has initiative and that player would get to determine the order of checks?

I believe the situation is that if he is in range to begin with, it becomes a double. The text on Splitlip doesn't say it isn't a power action. It says you "can use a free action instead of a power action." When you are in range of Professor X, it is a double, which doesn't qualify for the deal that Splitlip gives you.

Since right now it looks like Splitlip makes it a choice of using it as a Free Action, both effects are active. You could use it as a Free Action or you coukd use it as a Double Power Action.

I think if you're using hammers and Splitlip, you've already lost.

Depends on the event in all honesty. If I'm playing at a ROC or large Con you better believe I'm coming out with guns blazing. If it is a local event for LE Shrinking Violet, then yeah...

You're right. I'm pulling out ALL the stops if there's the chance to win a hat.

There is a lot more than a hat. They are good events, and the ability to get an auto seat at the top round for Dragon Con is very big as well.

I won't go into this further though as this isn't the proper forum.
