I would say I'm in favor of what they are planning for the Borg Collective, in so much as what they've told us so far.

I don't play heroclixs. I liked sealed in MtG when I played. This is a limited format. I won't know if I will like it until the event starts, but it looks fun to me and I'm excited about it. Maybe it will turn out good, maybe it will be the crappiest format ever. For better or worse we'll find out in a few months.

You do get to balance out your fleet with ships you own already. You get 90 points constructed and may use up to 30 points from the booster you pull.

I understand the format, I was comparing the AW blind format to Heroclix sealed events. I know nothing about MTG though. Was everything players pulled in sealed equally balanced?

No, everything is not equally balanced in MtG sealed, but skill is more of a factor than luck. At least it was when I played, which is why I could only come close to winning. Too many players were better than me.
