Say I target Iron Man #009 and then throw an object at him with a character assigned a resource/relic, is the damage coming from the object or the character? I am asking is the damage from the object would trigger:
"ADAPTIVE ARMOR: When Iron Man would take damage from a character assigned a relic or resource, Iron Man ignores that damage and rolls a d6. On a result of 1-3, deal Iron Man 1 unavoidable damage. This ability can't be ignored."
Please and thank you. I did search and found nothing but my google-fu may be weak
While the damage dealt is determined by the thrown object, it's still determined during an attack made by the character assigned the Relic/Resource. It would still trigger Adaptive Armor.

Yes it would still trigger his effect. The attack is from a character and the object just lets you know what the damage becomes.
