Tom + Sulu + Cloak = 9 defense. My first attack is for 10 dice followed by 3 dice. After that you better run because I can ignore the first 5 damage and the last 3-5 damage.

Not sure if Picard is the right captain for this, and playing something like Sisko or Terrell would allow for a second ship. But you lose Cheat Death in the process.
