Did you say without failing a shape change roll? I have a feeling the answer might be different if she was KO'd in the attack when she failed a shape change roll. Just who is the 'original controller' anyway?
Anyway I will email them again, this is going to get ridiculous.

Man, if only someone could have foreseen this exact issue occurring with this email model of dealing with rules...
Total nonsense.
No offense to anyone, but this is exactly why we cannot trust anyone who says here is the rule on X, because I got an email from them...

I say we all just meet in town square and have a big copycat burning. We will send this rules-nightmare demon from whence it came!
I'm sorry, all of the most confusing game elements get shrines from me. Those are the ones I love the most. I'm not burning Copycat, she's getting played with Deadman, Parasite, Winter Soldier (all blocks of text special powers), Larfleeze, Hope Summers (two of the longest threads in rules section), and maybe a team base too.

I call it the "I'm not stalling, I'm trying to parse this." team.
-player "A" puts copycat on a build with a 300 point force
-Player "B" has a 300point force and gets his 100pt M10th Phoenix switched with copycat.
-player "A" now controlling Phoenix then uses Phoenix to attack copycat to (seemingly) KO and permanently keep Phoenix on the "A" force.
This would be foolish right? because if Copycat succeeds the shape change roll, the attack fails and the action is wasted. And double whammy If Copycat fails the shape change roll and she gets KO'ed Player "B" gets his phoenix back and the victory points?
Is that right?
Originally I thought Player "A" would at least get the points for shooting himself in the foot and KO'ing his "friendly" but... I guess it's like pulse waving your own team huh?
Can we PLEASE get an official stamp of "If you kill it, you score it". This E-Mail, take my word for it stuff is a load of ****.
Sadly, no.
Because you obviously shouldn't get points for using pulse wave to kill things which both began the game on your team, and are currently friendly to you.
Also this doesn't resolve what happens when something is pushed to death.
Sadly such a nice neat rule is not practical without causing some serious overhauls/changes to scoring.

No, Player A KOed Copycat while Copycat was opposing to his force, so he gets the points.

No, you get victory points for characters defeated that are currently opposing to your force. It doesn't matter who defeats them, the only thing that matters is who they are opposing to when defeated.

I meant to write "for killing opposing characters". I was on my out the door at the time. My bad.
ANYWAY....has any official word, other than e-mail, come back saying that this is how things are suppose to work? Is the Victoria Hand ruling OFFICIALLY reversed?

Emails are official. It is officially changed. That is official word. Private PMs to rules team and emails to [email protected] are equally as valid as rulings made in a public thread. I don't know what more you want.

That one word is the problem. Sure, I can send the RA's a private message and learn about a figure, but unless someone in a position of authority speaks somewhere public (like, I don't know... a forum maybe ) how is anyone else gonna gain the same knowledge short of sending the same e-mail. I can be a super nice guy and post what they sent me, but for all anyone knows I could be making things up for the hell of it.
