So the WoL entities have this possession trait and I want to make sure I understand this part of it correctly (once the entity is on a figure's card).

So let's say FigA with the entity on his card has a 16 DV and the entity has a printed 18 DV. Do I understand correctly that FigA could choose DV and get 19 (meaning "that combat value" is the entity's printed DV)?
The concept is understandable as to possession (although all of the Parallax figures are MUCH more powerful than the same "regular figure" with the entity on the card so it's not as powerful as it should be), but the wording takes a few read-throughs to catch it all. This seems like the most unclear part to me.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
The way I read the ability, is when you pick a stat that is higher than the possessed character, they get +1 to the chosen stat. (They do not borrow the stat from the entity and then increase it by +1) The second sentence is the key:
No where does it say the character uses or replaces that combat value, just chooses one. Remember the term "combat value" refers to Speed, Attack, Defense, Damage and Range, not the numbers.
And that's what I wanted to verify if I was interpreting it right... it was how it said to choose a combat value that threw me off, which is why I was asking if I was interpreting it right.
Although I just realized that technically, you could have one entity be "possessed" by another entity as long as you are lucky enough to pull 2 chases. LOL!

All of the entities are giants. One of the character types that can't be possessed.
Easier way to read that confusing text:
...you may choose 1 power showing on one Possessor's dial and 1 value of either speed, attack, defense, damage, or range on one Possessor's dial higher than Ultra Dude's printed combat value. Ultra Dude can use that power and modifies Ultra Dudes's speed, range, attack, defense, damage, or range (whichever was chosen) by +1 until your next turn or until it is healed or takes damage.

Ah, good point... I didn't catch that they were giants.
