Compared to the Darkseid silver bullet version....this figure is bad...BAD BAD BAD! More than half his dial is plagued with battlefury. His top dial double target energy explosion is nearly useless paired with phasing and a pathetic range. He has such devastating potential with his ridiculous range combat expert. I just....I just don't see his point cost of 200+ being worth it.

So 5 range is pathetic, but 6 isn't?
I think you're being too hard on this figure. Regular Orion might be the better figure, but this isn't a bad figure by any means. He still has Move and Attack, so his mobility isn't too horrible. He has 2 more clicks for 6 more points, one of which is a stop click with an escape button option that comes with free Regen. Moreover, his trait is potentially amazing. Not only does he have a chance and weakening your opponents team every turn, but he also steals something off of their resources, which can easily reduce his shortcomings or make him even stronger.
The six range is worlds better when paired with Running Shot. With only five range you have to park him within easy Charge range and wait a turn to use his EE or RCE. If he had a range of 8 or 9 that would be respectable because you could set him up a decent distance away and then start poking people.
Whereas the R Orion can RS 6 squares and shoot six more. Although frankly I think the R Orion is overcosted at 200. His 150 dial seems to be the sweet spot, so comparing point costs doesn't mean much.

this didn't exist in the comic the chases are all based on. we should have gotten a Master / Darkseid chase instead with the keywords so he can lead his army of brainwashed Daxomites. Guardian chase is one more point, and way more worth it.

Sure, if you want to have a 9 attack with no abilities.
True, but then again I think his trait is designed to make up for that shortcoming. If your opponent shows up with a resource you'll have some relics to choose from. Any hammer will give him +2 attack plus some kind of move and attack power.
I wouldn't play him if I didn't think an opponent was bringing a resource to the party.

An attacker targeting multiple figures should have to declare damage dealt to each target before making their attack roll. It just makes sense.
One of the best chases if he has a hammer, Move and attack will cancel out with the +2 to attack. Give him Angrir's hammer ... then you'll like his move and attack.
