This is easily one of my favorite pieces of all time. Even if you ignore the Zombie traits this would still be one of the most flexible and deceptively effective dial designs ever.
Who needs creative design when you can just choose your own powers? Sure he is limited by possibly taking 1 unavoidable damage, but that is well worth the risk when you can pick either steal energy or regeneration at any point on his dial. Top it off with the insane zombie "back from the dead" trait, and you have a serious beast of a figure in the right hands. Some possible combinations I'm thinking of... Shape Change, Super Senses, Probability Control... Stealth, Invincible, Perplex... Hypersonic Speed, Steal Energy... The possiblities are endless. This is in my opinion the sleeper figure of the year. If you can't make him work you are doing something wrong...
Might just be worth picking four powers every turn and taking the one unavoidable. You can always select Regen or Steal energey later. Plus the Z-Virus thing for healing. I would pick something like Impervious/Combat Reflexes/ESD first and then maybe Willpower second turn and something like RS/Charge/HSS with Pulse Wave or PS, and Probability Control for the hell of it since once I take the unavboidable I'll have Perplex. Looks like a lot fo fun to field and I'm working on a way to get 10th Anniversary Wolverine on a team with him.

You can only choose one power from each combat value type. Making combinations like Impervious/Combat Reflexes/ESD isn't possible.
To whoever was trying to correct me, I would only choose a defense power first turn and try to roll a three or better. Choosing either Imprevious, Combat Reflexes or ESD. Then choose four(speed/attack/def/damage) on the next turn and not four defense powers. Learn how to read between the lines, Drax, your race is too literal.
Picked mine up the other night. I was already a huge fan of zombies, but this guy is amazing. "Pick your power" is a game changer. Don't like the click of damage? Pick Steal Energy or Regeneration. Don't wanna go to that trouble, or have another plan for his powers? Angrir's. He will find his way onto many a Monster-themed team, other zombies or not.
This guy is a beast, He is literally a one man army, He can fight anyone and win! picking any power you want is just mean. Oh you got impervious I'll pick Psy blast, was that now you have Super senses ok i'll pick precision strike, Oh no now you have invincible then i'll pick running shot, pulse wave, prob to make sure I don't miss and then i'll pick invincible too to protect me on the next turn...Soo freaking good, I will gladly take my 1 unavoidable damage please :] This guy help me win a constructed con in your store event earning me some sweet con ex constructs. The best part was I was playing a fun zombie team ;]
As a huge SS fan this was the Zombie I was most exited about when the silhouettes were teased. Of course what we thought was the SS zombie ended up being just a skrull (which i also love). But I was ecstatic to find out that not only was he one of the next zombies, he was arguably the BEST zombie! My favorite thing about SSZ is that he may never be obsolete. Even when power combos change in the future and new powers are added, he'll always have access to some of the best powers in the game. Unless we get to a point where strait standard power combos just aren't viable, he will always be great piece.
