I've asked this question twice on WizKids event system rules forum to get no answer and even done the email thing to neca for them to tell me to post it on WKES.
So let's try here, if I start a game with #61 kingpin on the zombies team base would he get his trait?
CLONE DEAR VANESA FOR FOOD:#At the beginning of the game, place a Vanessa token on this card. As long as that token is on this card, give Kingpin a power action to place a Food token on this card or the card of a single adjacent friendly character with the Z-Virus keyword, unless that card has 5 Food tokens. When Kingpin would be KO'd and before activating Zombie Infection, remove the Vanessa token to place up to 3 Food tokens on this card, until this card has no more than 5 Food tokens.

Now would he get it at the being of the game Like it says or when he solo adventures?

I wondered this myself. I guess the bigger question is, with guys on a teambase and dials in the Sideline, are the sideline elements on your team or not? Because if they ARE, then effects such as this would in fact trigger. If, somehow, they're not, then no.

Traits only trigger when someone is on the map, and it's been said that complete characters in the sideline don't get to do things while there. Team members, however...

I found two more guys with similar effects [Daredevil and Deadpool from the DP main set].

I asked again. I feel strongly the answer is no, but you never know in this crazy game!

Gambit from the X-Men Blue TB has a Beginning of Game Effect as well. So does the Gold TB Wolverine. The answer was always No. They aren't part of the game.

This is correct. If they are on the sideline then they are not part of the game yet, and so can't effect the game. Just like if you had a duo on your force and the figures to split it on your sideline.

Unsurprisingly! They answered on the WES and made it official, so that's fine. Hardly a big deal.
