Just double checking (would post in official forum...but I posted in there TWO weeks ago and my questions and their answers are STILL not up : |)

If KO a character that is possessed while being assigned the Black Lantern Ring or you have a Power that Heals on a Figure being KO'd...would you get Two clicks of healing? I believe so as nothing states 'within' a certain amount of square:

DEATH: If this character already has the Black Lantern Corps keyword, modify all of its combat values except damage by +1. Otherwise, this character has the Black Lantern Corps keyword, can use Steal Energy, and when an opposing character is KO'd, heal this character of 1 damage.

I just spent 3 minutes and I can't figure out what you are asking...

I think the question is:
If 'Death' from the character grants healing of 1 damage and 'Death' from the lantern grants healing of 1 damage, then would the character be healed 2 damage?

I would say sure since it doesn't say if not already bla bla by this effect.

When you KO an opponents possessed character, do you heal via black lantern for KOing the Entity? is the question

Heal 1 from lifesteal.
Heal 1 from KOing the character
Heal 1 from Entity possessing the KOd char? (is the question in a different form)

I'm inclined to say that you don't get the click because per wording it says "remove from the game" which is the same as Black Talon's MC and it has already been ruled that when the MC of Black Talon resolves, the character is removed and no KO effects are triggered.

POSSESSED: Click the Possessor's dial to the same click number as this character and change it during the game in the same way that this character's dial changes. At the beginning of each of your turns or after this character takes or is healed of damage and actions resolve, you may choose 1 power showing on one Possessor's dial and 1 combat value on one Possessor's dial higher than this character's printed combat value. This character can use that power and modifies that combat value by +1 until your next turn or until it is healed or takes damage. If the Possessor is turned to a KO click, it is removed from the game immediately.


I would say no, because the entity is not KOed but rather just removed from the game

Then yes, I agree that you do not because it is Removed from Game, not KO'd.

Ignore Misread The Power

The other thing about this that confused me is it looks like you're stacking the ring power with the Death ability on a black lantern character, and you can't do that, because they'd have the Black Lantern Corps keyword. So they're only getting +1 to all stats except damage. Not the Steal Energy or Healing.

This is why I was confused. I know Troma and figured he might have some secret tech up his sleeve to accomplish this so I was more focused on the actual question but I'm still not 100% positive we answered it as he was thinking about it.

Better question is if I had Galactic Guardians Thanos being possessed by Black Hand.

Would Death stack with his trait that heals him everytime an opposing characters KOs?

That power would stack, because they're not the same effect, and Thanos doesn't have Black Lantern Corps as a keyword, so he can get the Death ability through the ring. Alternatively, he could also gain the power from Black Hand.

I was asking what you guy answered:

How many times could I heal when a character with a possession Entity is KO'd.

There is no "Secret tech" that can get around that. I asked the same thing about another ring and First Lantern (where you can't use keywords that include "Lantern")... you can't gain the same power from the ring if the figure has the power with the same/similar words and effects (even those that are just a bit different).


Here's where that "However..." comes in. WK has already ruled that Zombie Juggernaut can use his power that lets him roll when he's targeted with OW AND to roll when he's assigned the Green Ring (same basic power, same effect... different names). So yes, the Black Ring and Thanos' power will stack.
So much for not being able to use the same game effect twice. :-s
