Asset wording is a bit funky. Is it supposed to read "when THIS character uses solo adventure? Maybe I'm just confusing myself.. Either way, there are many worse ways to spend 99 points. I almost wish she cost 100 instead so she could use ultra heavies
Based on Psylocke's wording, I'm not sure if it's meant for when Rogue goes on Solo Adventure or when Rogue is attached and another figure goes on a Solo Adventure, that the team base can use a power that the Solo'd figure can use... but yeah, as written, it wouldn't work (like how the Shark Repellent did as written). ;)
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
Considering what 100 points normally nets you these days (5-6 clicks), Rogue is very good at her job: Being a lower-cost, durable flying brick with mimic abilities. Much better under most circumstances than the original team-centric version.
The best Rogue, imho, is still the REV from Fantastic Forces. However, I will enjoy using this, as it is effective and will be Modern Age legal come rotation time next year.
It's sad that even though she stole the powers of Ms Marvel they continue to make Rogue with only starting Toughness when just about ever Ms Marvel starts with Invulnerable or better. Still a good figure over all despite that qualm, and a little less points than the team base one, but you have to depend on hitting your opponent to get a good power/stat as opposed to just picking one up at the beginning of the game.
Meh. Yet another Heroclix who has yet to capture the essence of the character she represents. So disappointing. At least I won't have to go out of my way to get her.
I love Heroclix, it's my favorite hobby since 2002.
When she hits a opponent with a special defense power, does she get to use that power? It doesn't say anything about standard powers.
--When Rogue hits an opposing character, choose attack or defense. After actions resolve, you may choose to replace her current value with the hit character's printed combat value of the chosen type and she can use the hit character's power of the chosen type.--
So if she hits uru metal absorbing man, would she get to use his insane defense special?
Yet another question: I'm confused about the "may" in her power. Can she choose to copy a power *without* copying the value?
It says you may copy the value and she can use the power. Are those two separate effects or a single one (i.e. if you hit somebody with a lower defense but a power you want, can you keep Rogue's defense the same and copy the power anyway?)
@Cattribal: The last sentence of the power reads, "This effect lasts until she chooses to replace her combat value again." As written, the defense power replacement value triggers the use of the same power type (defense value AND power). I would double-check with the WK Rules Forum.
Since the type of power usage (standard, special) is never mentioned, the potential for a bigger payoff outweighs a low(er) replacement DV, imho. Keep her next to a high-DV character with Defend, if need be.
Not a bad dial, but I cannot say enough about how I can't stand it when the keywords don't match the character they are supposed to represent. In this case, a Rogue with the Avengers keyword should NOT have the original Ms. Marvel power set (Super Strength, Flight, Invulnerability/Toughness) because she had lost those powers WAY before joining the Avengers Unity Squad.
It is really disappointing that she did not have indom or imp to start off with.
Really confused about when her power absorption effect happens. Does Rogue have to continually have to check the opposing character every turn to replace her chosen attack/defense value or would it be mercifully locked until she attacks another character and she chooses to use her power?
They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark

No. Like Hope, she copies the power at that time. She keeps that power until the next time she "steals a power"
