It has a new DLC but the stand alone game is a blast. About as good as you can get in a Zombie apocalypse game.

I realize this is an old game but I just escaped a ton of zombies after exploring 'just one more spot' which will get you killed in this game. Oh, death is final, by the way.

I played for a while, but I'm currently taking a break to work on the rest of my library.

I really need to remember to stop playing when I'm tired but say 'Just one more 'quest'.... had to take one of my refugees out to kill some zombies and we were doing fine, but a horde happened by and it had a 'big'un' in the back of the group. I didn't see it until we were in the middle of the horde, slicing and dicing zombies. Next thing I know, the Big'un grabbed me and ....... well, perma death sucks.

Seriously, go check out this game

I was, but stopped awhile back. I really liked it! Great little combo of survival horror, beat-'em-up, and resource management.
