Beautiful sculpt. Weird power allocation throughout the dial may turn people off from playing him (as does his poor-for-the-points numbers), but he's a lot of fun. Always dangerous, he gets Poison and Outwit just as his AV starts to suck, so he doesn't even have to make rolls to be a threat at that point. Perfect Inspiring Commander for Arachnos (he can use it on every click).
I've always had success with Recluse by including Armor Piercing and Inspiring command then having Ghost Widow tote him around. My 2nd favorite villian in this set.
Defense and Dial are all too low to really justify playing this outside of an Arachnios theme team. Also there are more economic uses of 122 points. Might be okay in a massive point game as a mystic tie-up.
I particularly liked the nasty combo of Damage Shield from Legacy plus Armor Piercing. He's definitely not a ranged figure, and because he meets the prerequisites for Damage Shield on every click he can deal two damage between the feats and his TA every time he gets close.
Eww
ive actually played CoV, and hes much tougher, they should make new CoV and CoH characters as an Indy set. it wud contain some very playable characters, if done to who they are in the video game
I have all the City of Villains characters, and I must comment that LR here is a perfect candidate for Contingency Plan. I know every screams "Armor Piercing/Damage Shield!" but he is made for CP. As far as offense goes, he generally falls flat, but he can be extremely deadly late dial with Poison/Mastermind/Outwit. Just make sure you have some decent cannon fodder. I would actually recommend Black Scorpion, since his defense drops so low, Ghost Widow can usually heal him back to full health. I give IL Recluso a 4 out of 5, simply because of his long life + Arachnos TA, and the fact that he is so Contingency Plan-able. All the City of Villains are really finesse pieces if you think about it, which I like, since that really makes the game more challenging, at least for me.
Unholy Bajeebus do I miss City. Having let go of these and the CoH figures in a fit of stupid fueled by the pain of nostalgia, I'm stoked to have them on the way to my collection again. I think the best part is that they really AREN'T bad for their point costs and all bring something nifty to the table, and Mako and Widow continue to be outright stellar. I think I'll actually be cycling through different resources for thematically appropriate "Lord Recluse builds/steals a super-weapon to try and take over the world...again" teams. It's also kind of like a dare. "No, really, I dare you to be annoyed this team made up of 8-9 year old figures (that are only getting older) is using a resource." But I'll have even more fun making an "Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" team using them in the biggest cross-universe team ever.
