I posted a rules inquiry on the Rules Forum for the Wizkids event system as seen below:
I was trying to get clarification on the interaction of Pulse Wave and effects that say "line of fire can not be drawn to" and/or "can not be targeted".
It was previously ruled that the Midnight Sons ATA would trump Pulse Wave for the second portion of the ATA's effect ( If that character can already use Stealth on their starting click, lines of fire may not be drawn to that character by opposing characters while on that click.) and the character would not be able to be targeted if it already has Stealth on it's opening click.
I was trying to find out if this ruling covers all effects that state line of fire can not be drawn to them or cannot be targeted?
When I click on this link to review the inquiry and response it takes me to a page that says "The requested topic does not exist." I've tried to contact via Email inquiring about the status of this post as the email was received on the 16th of February, but haven't received any further information back on if the topic is posted or responded to, and it doesn't show up when I try to do a search on the site.
Then I ask in other posts for clarification and get disapproved for rules posting infractions about guideline #1..... How is asking for further guidance and information on a ruling fall under this:
1.The Rules Forum is for Rules Questions only: Please keep your questions focused on rules questions. Posts of personal ads, hello/goodbye messages, call outs/shout outs, forum games, polls, advertising of events, organizing sales/trades, game or rules change requests, or any other non-rules related discussion will not be approved.
My posts are asking for further information on a ruling that was given out on a particular figure, it's not a personal ad or a greeting, not a call for rules change or a non-rules related post.....
If anyone else wants to take a stab at using them for rulings and clarifications, be my guest. It just seems like so many problems are arising from rulings, lack there of and the sit back and wait attitude of the rules moderators on their own site.....
Dice rolls will be the bane of my competitive Heroclix career.
The ruling that was posted by spider ham simply annotates about the can't be ignored part of wordings (mainly stop clicks)
And I couldn't find any other pulse wave topics that talked about effects that have cannot be targeted. I figure that the Midnight Son ruling might be a blanket for any "cannot draw line of fire to" effects, but you never know, they have 3 different ways of saying you can't shoot me for crying out loud....
Can Not Draw Line Of Fire To
Line Of Fire Is Blocked
Can Not Target
I understand according to the Midnight Son's ATA ruling that if you have Stealth on starting click that you can't have line of fire to it and pulse wave can't ignore it. I want to ensure that this is a blanket for all Can't Draw Line of Fire to effects.
Line of fire is blocked can still be affected by Pulse Wave as per previous rulings.
But where does can not target fall into this.
Dice rolls will be the bane of my competitive Heroclix career.
PredatorSmurf is going to poop himself when he reads the thread title.
The game is out of control when it comes to interactions. Nothing on the cards can be trusted and there are far too many exceptions. It's one of a few reasons I retired from judging.
It may be "judges are the final word on rulings" that keep OP going...
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Let me help you out.
Can't have lines drawn means exactly that. You can't draw a line, so you can't ignore anything.
Everything else, draw a line, does PW ignore the things that line crosses? Then blast away.
Cannot be targeted doesn't stop PW, you've already drawn a line and now you're ignoring everything you ignore.
