Hey everyone!
I'm pretty new and to try to get up to speed I downloaded the following:
2014 Core Rulebook, 2014 PAC, DC/Marvel Team Abilities. I found on another page 8 entries for the Players Guide.
I found a link for errata, but there was no data. (There is errata in the player's guide)
In addition the first page of the Players Guide says it uses the 2013 Rulebook for page references. Wouldnt that mean if there were a rule change from 2013 to 2014 then that the Players Guide could be wrong.
Is there anyone who can reference better listings or do I have these correct?
Are there any other documents I might need in order to play the game?
I checked out the HeroClix WizKid forums and respectfully. Its almost useless. HC Realms is the best page I've found, but can this be counted as official?
Lastly, does WizKid's release any type of official information. I get more information from HC Realms then I do from WizKids about their own game.
Thanks everyone in advance for your replies. I really do appreciate the help.
It depends heavily on with whom you're playing. If you are going to compete in WizKids events, (Nationals, Worlds, etc.) then you need to pay close attention to the Heroclix.com event system, rules forum. Search for the pieces you plan to play for any rulings.
If you are going to play at a local store or event, then talk to the host/judge and ask him very specifically about questions regarding your build (don't try to keep "surprises" ; tell him your intentions and clear up any potential ambiguities BEFORE you've started the game). The local judge is the arbiter of local games, and you want to give him time to think, read, research. Most judges I know don't want to make "bad" rulings so they appreciate not having to make a snap decision, with a bunch of games running on the clock.
If you are just playing with friends, discuss ambiguous or confusing powers/rules as you discover them. Chat about them, and ultimately do whatever your groups agrees is the most fun. (Eg, your group might say screw the Official Ruling on DC 10th Anniversary Nightwing's trait, and decide he can be on teams without breaking theme).
HCRealms is an excellent resource to keep up to speed on current rules and even what rules are currently "up in the air" if you desire to know this.

Thanks Koala. That really was helpful. I've played at 2 different stores and without a date some things are played differently in each store.
What I was hoping someone could help with those is do i in fact have all of the actually documention necessary to play the game.
As I mentioned. No where on the main pages at Heroclix.com does it mention anything about the players guide. Many rulings i've seen here i've now realized were taken from that guide.
What I'd like to know is, am I missing anythign else? the wizkids page shows info for the core rule book, pac, etc. but no where for a players guide? What else might I be missing that would show the actual rules of the game as provided by WizKids.
The other part was. It says in the players guide is that it was based off 2013 rulebook. Yet, there is a 2014 rulebook. Is there a 2014 players guide I cant find?
Any more info would really be helpful. Thanks again
The last version of the Player's Guide was released in February 2014, before the release of the 2014 rule book.
It has since been removed from the WizKids website as all current rulings are supposed to be posted on the WES forum, but so far they have only posted a fraction of the rulings found in the Player's Guide.
Thanks Quebbster. I love the game so far and really want to fine tune my game but cant without knowing the rules. Obviously there's always going to be something new that comes up, but without that base I dont see how anyone can then understand to make new rulings. Thanks to all who replied. Really do appreciate the help.
I dont know if they close these or just let them go, but i've gotten my answers so if they close these. feel free to do so.thanks again.

You can close any thread you start, if that is your wish. See the thread tools up near the top of the thread.
However, in a rules forum such as this one, it is generally best to leave the thread open. This way, if anyone has a follow up, they can post it.
