So I feel like I'm missing something in my games. I've got good characters. I just need to find out how I'm playing wrong, or if it's not that how to build or buy a better team. I play mostly both modern and all figure matches in the 300-500 range. So please build a team then say how you would play it using one of the above settings and specify which one. Thanks so much in advance!
AVX Professor X 150pts
LE Angel 65pts
WAX Polaris 94 pts
WAX Havok 81pts
AVX Danger 150pts
WOS Nightcrawler 86pts
WAX Shadowcat 70pts
DOFP Wolverine(future) 156pts
WAX Wolverine 100pts
WAX Longshot 75pts
WAX husk 100pts
AVX/ WAX Hope Summers 122pts/75pts
WAX Forge 90pts
WAX Layla Miller 79pts
LE Rogue 99pts
WAX Colossus 100pts
LE White queen 122pts
WAX Jean Grey 40pts
GSX Cyclops 110pts
M10 Storm 59pts x2
M10 Storm 98pts
I also have Jor-el, and kryptonian scientist from Man of steel and Agent 13 from Winter Soldier.
First, it's always good to see love for the X-Men.
Second, GSX Cyclops is a great figure, but he's not Modern. For a Golden Age X-Men team, he's a great choice since he allows two clicks of healing for the team ability.
Recently, I played a 200 point Golden Age game, using Longshot and WXM Hope Summers, which is why I'd like to start with those.
That leaves you room for a relic if you want one. Also, you'll want to have a sideboard of M10 Storm 98, since the Storm you start with has the Combat Promotion ability. Lots of friendly abilities for Hope to copy in there and good cover for Longshot, who is just a monster, especially when he targets multiple characters at once.
Still keep the higher point storm on your sideboard. You still have plenty of things to copy for Hope--including the Special Powers!--and you have tons of options.
Tactics: Longshot attacks crowds and/or big targets, Storm sits in hindering and shoots from range and will likely get to promote. Let Hope use Forge's once per game ability and she'll get Perplex, even in the last half of her dial and if she copies another character later. You'll need to take your time with this team and close the distance toward your opponent. Be sure to not have anyone wander too far, else they'll get picked off quick.
I'll post again with a 400- and 500- point team, using your list.
Note: I didn't realize that I'd put a Golden Age figure on that team until I posted it: Nightcrawler

Reason: Misread the list above.

I would keep Forge next to Colossus to allow him to heal every round and snag an item in order to use his Device Crafting. Wolverine I would send out to hunt down strays while Colossus heads for the big hitter.
Yes, that's not a full team. I'm leaving the gap so you can add in relics or special objects (Print and Play!), and one of the X-Men ATAs (Blue Team won't do you any good with this team, since it doesn't have leadership).
What this team gives you is shared X-Men TA between Colossus and Forge, with Forge being able to heal Colossus one click each turn as a free action. Havok and Polaris together are increasing each other's stats, increasing attack and defense.
Use Polaris as a cannon, throwing Colossus close to an enemy--or throw Havok forward to shoot at someone. What you do with that last 35 points is going to decide more of what you can do.

150 AVX008 Professor X
3 ATA115 X-Men: Blue
86 WS047 Nightcrawler
59 M10A007 Storm

298
Prosseor Xavier Just does what he does and the X-men ata will help the other two.
That team won't work for two reasons:
1. You have to put the ATA on Nightcrawler and Storm as well, which puts the total over 300.
2. If you could run that, Professor X can only give himself a stat bonus (which is a sound idea), since it only helps those with the ATA.

Thank you so much! I don't have any relics or objects so I was wondering what to do about that 35 points. Can i print and play an object or relic if i didn't actually buy it?

I think most special objects and relics are 3d so probably not, but ata's and bystanders are available for PNP.
Will not remove until all the members of the New X-Men Squad are clixed. 7/7 + 3/4

Woops, I didn't read the rest that they need it also. sounded good
90 Forge
150 Danger
100 Colossus
40 Jean Grey
16 X-Men:Gold ata x4
it may not be a super competitive team but it's gotta lot going for it. I put Forge on a lot of my teams for the "perplex all game after eating an object" power, his opening "neutralizer gun" power that you can choose to use to turn off defense powers if you hit and his . for this team his healing trait can be used on Danger AND Colossus.
Colossus is a simple brute attacker.
Danger can help position by carrying characters (first turn I'd ALWAYS have her carry Forge onto your lightest object) while flying over terrain and doing it with sidestep. she'll also be a bit of a support piece that can bat clean up, just don't let her get hit fast. Jean helps position with tk and is an X-Men ta battery for if it gets rough. the ata will help to keep the oppositions stats at normal while you'll have 2 perplexes within the first few turns (after Forge gains his).
this would be a fun X-men team for a home game for me, but I don't know where you're playing or what your opposition is like. regardless, 3 characters, 2 ways to help position, some support and multiple ways to heal aren't anything to shake a stick at against another 400pt team.
