Are there two different versions of this figure? This image shows the costume with the belly revealed, but the one we saw from the box opening video is the later version where it's covered.

I doubt it, someone probably got uptight over the CG model shown here. and had them paint it in on the actual piece.
For those wondering about the costume, when Ms. Marvel first appeared she had the belly window exposed. It was the 1970s and they were trying to use sex appeal to sell the character. Later issues would appeal to the feminist movement, so they closed the belly window. Not much of a difference, but things were strange back then.
How about some actual discussion about the dial, though? She is a lot better than the previous two Ms. Marvel figures, but I think she is way overcosted for the rookie Ms. Marvel they are trying to represent.
Technically, the pose is taken from Shoryuken Ryu/Ken/Akuma from the Street Fighter set, as they did it first, (which the Superman in question copied).
As for the Ms Marvel, she's just about perfect for her time in this costume. My only complaint is I'd like an 18d up front, as she lacks the esd most characters in the set get.
I really dig this version of her absorption power, too. :)
The tent-pole of my 300 point draft team. Worked well with Captain America's Take Cover giving her a +1 Defense bump from ranged attacks, which she needs. Each game she grabbed an ultra-heavy and swung for 7 damage, destroying my opponent's tent-pole each game. In fact in my 2nd game I won turn 3. Her special damage power is like a discount Power Cosmic and helped my team immensely. Far from bulletproof though so play her cautiously in close combat.
Such an awesome team player, you can start off a turn taking a token off of someone adjacent with her leadership, then enhancing them so they can make a ranged attack, then hypersonic into position to make an attack against someone, and finish your movement next to another of your pieces to empower them for one of their attacks. All that, without even mentioning the outwit / perplex protection. She did very well in the 400 sealed tonight for me.

My question, though, is when WK will make a Rogue fig that reflects this dial? Granted, Rogue never had the energy-absorbing powers that Carol had later on, but pretty much everything else could fit in an appropriate Rogue dial- especially since they love playing up the "Ms. Marvel's strength" and whatnot in the descriptions of her powers.
I don't see the problem with the outfit. It seems it is always people complaining about women and their sex appeal. I wonder if those same people would complain about He-man being bare chested, while holding a phallic symbol and being a bad representation of what being a man is all about.
