If I'm making an 300 point modern age team and I wanna use an relic or could be assigned one say with like TW: Greed, does it have to be from the sets now in modern or can you assign any relic from any time period? Thanks!
If the tournament is a Modern Age, then it would have to be from a Modern set unless there is some house rule that states otherwise. Relics rotate with their respective sets.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC

I assume you mention Greed because he adds elements without adding to your build total. I read this to allow ANY relic regardless of age, or any other limits on the team build. The intent is to allow resources and relics on a team, but I would allow my players to use him to 'cheat' older relics onto their team.
When you build your force, you may assign a relic of 8 points or less to Greed by paying its cost. This object doesn't count towards your force.
Specifically, if the object doesn't count towards your force would it follow the same restrictions as your force? I don't think it does. I'm open to other interpretations, but if you general question is "do relics retire with their corresponding set" then the answer is a simple yes.

While you are allowed to set up house rules at your venue, you should be aware that ruling as you state would be a house rule. The official stance is that things like Greed do not skirt the rules for the age.
It is a long standing rule that you can only use elements of the age of the event.
Other things where this has appeared would include Morph and Revert. In a modern age event, you could not Morph into something not in modern age.
Another example is the WK exclusive Apocalypse. He is modern age and has an effect where he can be replaced by the GSX colossal Apocalypse figures. That effect sannot be used in a modern age game.
