I finally got one of these today, and I must say, he's a beast! This one is actually misprinted as clicks 11 and 12 also have Psychic Blast giving him 13 total click of it.
Healing powers isn't as good s the regular anti-monitor, but the SCAM has the 2 team abilities and better AV for less points. I think it is an excellent piece.
I just recently acquired this piece after a "long" time of searching. I gotta say he seems to be the better choice between him and his normal counter part. His dial is a tad shorter, but his 2 team abilities more than make up for it. And many people will say that his SP for healing is not as good as the regular anti-monitors. Let me go ahead and tell you why it is better. He may only be allowed to heal for a maximum of 4, but think about the other side of the coin, he is going to be dealing "NOVABLAST" at full range (10 square RADIUS) to everyone he can see (except stealth). This power has the potential of RUINING a team, yea it will toast your own guys, but theirs as well. Could he go toe to toe with his twin? I believe he can.
A much better choice than the Experienced version, and more likely to withstand a barrage from World's Finest and Thor's Chariot if they were ever to team up and face off against him. He has the advantage of being immune to Outwit, as he would otherwise fall quickly to the wayside. Add Shellhead and the Green Lantern Corps ATA as insurance.

Ok I own this piece and after reading through his rules for the millionth time, it says nothing about playing feats on him. Starro can't have any but SCAM can.
1) The special rules from his card still apply? To be specific, it says that the Quintessence team ability protects him from pushing damage after the second token, but the current rules of colossal stamina contradict this. So is this effect still valid???
2) How can you defeat him??? There's a challenge going on at my locan hobbie store about defeating him... but he seems unkillable! What's more, I'm kind fo a n00b, I only got the giant size x-men set (most of it) and some web of spiderman stuff. Any advise on how to defeat this beast would be much appreciated!
Why not? All shellhead requires is a standard shield symbol, and either toughtness, invulnerability, or impervious. You can shellhead him.
You can't because it's in the Golden Age Player's Guide on the Wizkids/NECA website. The exact quote reads:
SHELLHEAD
Shellhead cannot be used by characters with the :g-colossal:
damage symbol.
As to the question of whether or not he takes damage from Colossal Stamina, the most recent PAC's list Colossal Stamina as part of having the :g-colossal: damage symbol, and since it's not referring to the damage as being pushing damage but unavoidable damage, then it would appear as though even characters with a big pink Q or Galactus' head on their base would take this damage. They can still act two turns in a row without taking conventional pushing damage, but any more than that and it starts to stack up.

For the first question : Yes his rules still applys as indicates on the golden age players guide (pg 21).

When a special character‘s printed rules indicate that they have a
way to be given a non-free action every turn without taking
damage, these rules may be used instead of the Colossal Stamina
ability.
Firstly, folks have mentioned that this guys is arguably scarier than the 1000 point Anti-Monitor...the trick is being 200 points less with similar combat values and the Green Lantern TA added on. Sure, fine, whatever, Lyssa Drak. Screw that, go with ***cheap enhancement**. Less than 100 points can offset the Multiattack penalty and then cap the GoF's DaV from the rule of three. That leaves a little over 100 to play around with other stuff. It even leaves room for cheap perplex to boost his range and movement. Out ranging AND out damaging the V Anti-Monitor, now THAT's scary at 1000 points.

Ignoring Psychic Blast and Exploit Weakness make his reducers hard, but not impossible, to ignore. There are a few strategies now that didn't exist then, like figures that can actually get rid of Quintessence and then having three other outwits on your team. Why three? You silly n00b, you probably thought I was going to mention his reducers. This is actually a case where being able to Outwit the Guardian's Psychic Blast and Destined Destructor could win you the game if you have Barrier to protect Warlock. Other strategies include giving Guardian of Fear Battle Fury, or Con LE Doctor Fate. Certain other Colossals might stand a chance. Maybe Gauntlet and Vehicle cheese? Mix and match for epic win, I guess. But all that stuff is NEW. How about a strategy that doesn't rely on this stuff (and gets hosed if GoF blasts your crux piece to smithereens).
The answer now is pretty much what it was then for fighting figures with crazy immunities: Pulse Wave is the great equalizer. More specifically, Telekinesis + Running Shot + Pulse Wave is the great equalizer. Trying to get theme bonuses for this would be super-hard, so just think 'cheap TK' and lets look at the really eligible figures to build the team from. This IS assuming you're fighting at 800 points exactly...strategy differs a bit when the GoF has support like outlined above because it can intentional throw fodder out to mess up Pulse Wave alpha-strikes. Although I guess Nova Blast can help with that...
DC has:
OLD GOODNESS
-V Emerald Empress without help has 5 move running shot, 4 range Pulse Wave, AV of 10, and DaV of 4, for 102 points. All on top click! Top contender.
-U Brainiac (Icons) was the original, but is expensive. For the cost of 2.5 Emerald Empresses, you get 11 AV and 5 DaV with only one more range after Pulse Wave kicks in.
NEW HOTNESS
-Sunboy from Superman can shave points from Empress, keeping 10 attack but losing a point of Running Shot movement and damage.
-DC10th Brainiac brings the hotness of Icons for much less points, but gets a shorter dial out of the deal. Still, for only 1.5 Empresses, you get the raw 11 AV and 5 DaV at the same RS + PW range she has.
Marvel has:
OLD GOODNESS
-Polaris LE looks a lot like Sunboy, but has 9 AV + 4 DaV instead of 10/3, at similar effective ranges.
-Nimrod has many of the same drawbacks as Icons Brainiac, but also doesn't fly. 12 attack on that 4 damage may be worth your time, though. Also gets the nod for highest effective range (RS move 6, PW range 5).
-Sinister Black Bolt. High range with raw 10 AV and 4 DaV, sports perplex to move or shoot farther, or go to 11 AV or 5 DaV. Soft defense doesn't matter, because the reducers some of the other mentions have is going to get PPBed anyway, right?
-Secret Invasion Johnny Storm may look slightly lacking compared to other contenders at 100 points, but he has high range and can get Super-Cheesy Perplex from Reed.
-Thorbuster. For only about $100, you get the best top dial pulse wave 140 points can buy...and really, that's better than most figures around 200 points either. If you have one, use it, but out of reach for many Clixers.
NEW HOTNESS
-Marvel's new hotness exists, but are generally not as good deals for what you're looking to do here as the figures above. Exceptions include Marvel 10th Dark Phoenix @100 points and ASM041b Hobgoblin.
So what's the old goodness? Get a cheap Green Lantern or two (one of the only times you'll hear me suggest using CJ082 green lantern, GL TA + TK for only 3 points more than Abin Sur + Mandroid Armor) to carry the cheapest Perplex available into position, perplex up Emerald Empresses, and TK-Bomb them at Guardian of Fear. It's not guaranteed to work, but it DOES have solid chances on many maps, especially if you wiggle in Probability Control somehow. Perplex the ATTACK, not damage, as just two of those 4 damage Pulse Waves going off gets the GoF past Regen and only one click above the highest click he can heal to using Time to Feed, all while bringing his attack and damage to more manageable levels. If possible, move your Perplex horde into position to make his DaV 0-1 and you've come very close to winning the game. I'd even say the best New hotness doesn't really change the strategy very much, it just gets in cheap bonuses like the Utility Belt on your first Pulse Waver (because 12-13 attack and 6-7 damage 'unassisted' is delicious).
