Wanted to test out the new Iron Nail piece, but I try to challenge myself to build theme teams. I had the idea of using him with Jean Grey, however, she doesn't have the Shield keyword - but she can be recruited. I wanted to try this out:
NFAOS Iron Nail (155)
WXM Jean Grey (40)
DP G.W. Bridge (68)
NFAOS Coulson (main set) (75)
Shield Infiltrator (35)
Shield Recruit (20)
393 points
While this certainly isn't the best of teams, I don't think it will be the worst. Jean Grey is basically the taxi of the team, and Coulson can leadership her, should I decide to not move him turn 1. The Shield guys can Shield TA each other, and the recruit is pretty much there to hold up anyone trying to escape from Iron Nail. Thoughts?

I may disagree with your opinions, but I will always respect them.
It's a really clever idea to use GW to bridge in Jean Grey. :D
That said, you could also use Fast Forces Fitz if you just wanted a cheap TK, and Fitz adds in Henry for just 10 points more so you get free Enhancement and Empower.
As for other ideas, I've been toying around with Iron Nail on a shield theme team for a bit, and here's what I was able to come up with on my own that doesn't include power batteries.
a.) at 400, you could also use 2 Iron Nails. Plop them down next to their chief threat and they'll be handing out 2 drain tokens before your opponent has a chance to react. Not the most original and you'll hit the cap literally after 2 turns, but you opponent will never be able to clear off the tokens fast enough. Toss in an Infiltrator or two and someone else, and you're set.
b.) Alexander Pierce. For 60 points, the guy can make his own way, sticking close to Iron Nail. Iron Nail can Mastermind onto him, and if you get two people next to the opposing character (Pierce and Iron Nail or a Recruit and Iron Nail), they get slowed down because they lost Willpower, and they can't use Exploit Weakness, which is one of the only weaknesses Iron Nail would have after basing them.
c.) Jimmy Woo. 60 points just like Pierce, and if he's next to Iron Nail you'll have an extra Prob and protection from your opponent's trying to shut you down with prob. Additionally, he can also protect Iron Nail from Mystics teams, which keeps him alive longer.
d.) Quinjet. Whether or not you want to use it as a resource, it's literally a 70 point taxi for Shield agents, and it has 9 clicks of health. It can get Iron Nail in to position and probably draw a little fire (if your opponent has action tokens already, it slows their reaction time to Iron Nail's trait). Just have the Quinjet carry the rest of your team, and then place them behind it when it stops moving. Your opponent will probably only be able to fire on the Quinjet, which means by the time you cross the map to drop off your Iron Nail(s) they will have 1 or possibly 2 action tokens, and they'll have to clear and absorb more drain tokens.
So just with that you could do:
team 1
2 Iron Nails
1 Shield Recruit
1 Quinjet (70)
or
2 Iron Nails
2 Shield Recruits
1 Fitz
1 Henry (0)
or
2 Iron Nails
1 Shield Recruit
1 Alexander Pierce/Jimmy Woo
(maybe a couple Shield IDs if you wanna be themey)
Iron Nail
Alexander Pierce
Jimmy Woo
Fitz
Henry (0)
FF Agent Coulson (for extra maneuverability with all those agents)
I hope that spurs some ideas, and if you think of something more solid, I want to run something in the next few weeks at my venue as well so I'd love to hear them.
Just played a fun 400 pt shield last night. Not your team but a fun casual team.
225 pt AoU Quasar
45 pt NFAoS Shield Section Chief
54 pt WATX Multiple Man
75 pt AOU She-hulk.
399
After Jaime popped out 2 others the alternating perplex empower clix helped She hulk wreck face and tied up nicely. First time I've ever used them and the X-men TA really helped them stick around. Quasar scooted around carrying his shield buddy for range damage boost. Dismantled Thanos Lazyboy and some other stuff nicely.
