So I'm really liking the SHIELD Team Ability for the obvious buffing purposes. But I do have one question about how the Power Action to modify an adjacent friendly character works. I'm debating on a 400 or team with War Machine from IM3 at 220 and 3 SHIELD characters, May, Skye, and Simmons for now. Can I modify his damage by, say 3 pts and then use a skill like Running Shot afterward, or does he have to stay adjacent to keep the buff? I know that the range buff only counts for adjacent characters but what about the damage? The wording says he has to be adjacent. But not that he has to STAY adjacent.
That almost sounds like a riddle: How can you make a character adjacent without staying adjacent?
Joking aside, as you noted, they all need to be adjacent (SHIELD guy and attacker). If Iron Man moves away with Running Shot, he is no longer adjacent when the attack is made; there is no modification to damage then.
They have to stay adjacent. What SHIELD says is to give a power action and choose an adjacent friendly character. While adjacent, that character increases their attack by 1 for any range attacks. The key word there is while. As long as the two characters are adjacent in order to activate the ability and then adjacent when an attack is made, the +1 will be in effect. What you can do though is activate SHIELD on the one character and then have the other use running shot and carry them as they move and the SHIELD buff will still work.
Keep in mind you do not calculate the damage dealt till after the attack is made.
so if you give the power action to increase the damage, then RS to a new position that is not adjacent to the Enhancers, when damage is dealt, then the modifiers are not there.
Like perplex and other "modifiers" they are not calculated till that value needs to be applied.
Unlike perplex, enhancement only modifies while adjacent.
I hope this helps.

you can carry while doing RS, so if you have someone with the right combat symbols to be carried, you can "bring them along for the buff".
Not "in the buff", "for the buff".
And the "beauty" of carry is that the carried figure has to start and end adjacent to the carrying figure, so this should work for this ATA very nicely.

That works for the range buff but the damage bump requires that the SHIELD agent be given a power action, which a carried character can't do.

You can also just run around the SHIELD figure.
Or, if you really want to get tricksy, you can activate the SHIELD TA then have a third character move them in between.
Example: Black Widow activates SHIELD TA while adjacent to Hawkeye. Falcon carries Black Widow to a new location. Hawkeye uses Running Shot to move adjacent to Widow again.
Follow up Question what if you give a character with SHIELD team ability the power action to activate the buff and then have another character running shot ending adjacent to shiled character. Does the newly adjacent character get the buff to damage?

If it wasn't adjacent when the SHIELD guy's power action was given, then no.
