A great addition to the JSA, giving them Stealthed PC and cheap 17 defense to share. A good piece in its own right as well, able to damage any figure on most clicks for under 60 points.

I was waiting for Sandman for years, and he did not disappoint.

My only quibble (and it's a small one!) is that I wish his sculpt had the traditional gas mask seen in Sandman Mystery Theatre.

one of the best support pieces in the game still. My son plays him often and this guy ends up being a game changer--no one can kill this guy! He drives me nuts. My son usually fields sandman and the original question on the same team; just plain frustrating because he plays them perfectly almost every time.

This guy is a real menace as a supporting character... that first click has only one real weakness: an inability to do anything to an Invulnerable piece. It's a good thing he has SOME weakness, because it's not easy to hit a 17 defense with PC working against you.
If you're lucky enough to Poison him or poke him, he suddenly drops his PC and Stealth and hits back with a nice AV and Incapacitate! Then the Mind Control comes in (which throws me a bit... I guess it's his gas-gun confusing people on the battlefield), which is again backed with PC. If he finally takes a serious hit, you've got a little close-combat in him and he can break an Invulnerable with that CCE, with a not-too-shabby 17 defense up close thanks to CR. Definitely top 10 in Origins.

Great piece. A lot of fun to use.

i love this guy. just an awesome support character. played him and a lot of other guys in a "save the multiverse from the anti monitor" game, and it went so much better with him sitting in the background pc'ing my butt out of (most) trouble. the PC is cool. very cool.

I have to agree with the previous posts Sandman is a monster. I teamed him up with Major Disaster in a quiet corner of the map and they took on all comers Sandman by himself took down Pete Wisdom and SI Iron Fist. With Disaster's help he took down Hercules and M-11. I will definitely run him when ever I can.

I hope the make sand...or a modern sand man. He is cool.

Wesley Dodds Sandman is one of my favorite figures and is extremely impressive. Unless your opponent loads up and takes him out early he'll likely hang around all game and be a thorn in their side.

The dial is one of the most comic accurate ever created with game balance still in mind.

I still love this guy. Always a thorn in opponents side every time I field him. He's getting busted out again soon, and this time with the utility belt with a bunch of gas pellets. Sweet dreams, criminal scum! The SANDMAN strikes again!

Changes to Smoke Cloud, Incap, Mind Control, and CCE make this piece a whole lot better.

Still viable in today's Clix environment, but I wouldn't turn down a remake (or a JSA set, for that matter, hint, hint).

One of my regular opponents has mad love for the JSA, and I still see this piece regularly across the table. He absolutely earns his points. The Smoke Cloud synergizes beautifully, with the JSA team ability, and of course the Stealth/PC combo is always nice. A good representation of an interesting character at the right price point.

It's sad that the new Sandman is so bad, but it simultaneously makes me happy that I can continue to use this gem. Now all we need is a Sand!
