I'd be much gratified if you KOd one more. I've got one more replacement left after this one. I have faith in you. You can do it. Phoenix still has some kick in her, and Deathlok's a solid piece.
Been a while since the last replacement. I'd been talking then about the groundbreaking work Neal Adams was doing on the Green Lantern/Green Arrow series. Another hugely significant story from that run is the "My ward's a junkie!" addressing drug addiction in a realistic way, making DC consciously decide to leave off the Comic Code approval stamp to get it published. In a way it was a tentative first step towards the creative freedom in the graphic novel genre today. So CR104 Ray Harper, in commemoration of that.
Beast is off on your recap. Process of elimination puts him in N14. Not sure when he got there, but no matter.
John on Deathlok, using RCE for a +2 AV. Miracle may be on PC now, but he can't see John. AV12 on DV17. Gets 3. Doesn't matter.
Roy on Phoenix, AV10 +2 on DV16. Gets 8. 1 to her after Toughness.
"I think the only 'miracle' here will be how to get blue fur out of your red and yellow costume. I know a decent dry cleaner on E 86th. If you ask for Candy and tell her I sent you she'll give you and 10% off coupon," the Beast says landing, feet first, on Mr. Miracle's chest.
Okay, so last guy - He feels like an 80s character, but Firestorm debuted in the late 70s. Going through the 70s, I feel like it was something of a dry spell for new characters for DC. Only a handful of the characters that came out in the 70s were particularly influential or had staying power. Firestorm was the start of a wave of new characters (many of whom we'll see next game) that infused some needed new blood into DC and went on to becomes fan favorites. Though technically the NU52 version, the JL5209 version's a pretty good representation of him from any age.
Darkseid takes a shot at Phoenix, AV10 on DV17 -1 with the PDTA from Roy. ROlls 9. Ss is 5. So glad her special SS only works on a 6. That's enough to put her on her last click.
Now to see if I can finish her. Shade Perplexes her DV to 17 and uses his Special Perplex to make Firestorm's Range 8. Lower's John's stats by 1.
Firestorm on Phoenix, AV10 on DV17 -1 again for Roy. Rolls the 7. That KOs her. And you don't even have other folks with damage to benefit from her Sacrifice SP
Dawnstar HSS to T16, attacks Beast, AV10 on DV17. Gets 5. Firestorm makes it 4. She ends in N15
Your call at this point whether to go on with this one. Without Phoenix, you're in pretty rough shape.
FL59r Shade Q15 (3)(Stealth)
IO45 Darkseid @ X20 (2)
SLOSH Dawnstar @ N15
WOL105r John Stewart (w/Shield Construct) X15 (1)
CR104 Roy Harper X19
JL5209 Firestorm @ W18
Oh I can start now. I already know a lot of who I want to play. I have to choose which six I'd want to start with, but easy enough. And I did like doing the 6 instead of the 8.
3500 points again, going to be enough for you? I can get by with that, but I could certainly go higher.
I was actually thinking lower just because we're covering less time. But sure, let's say 3500 and we can revise.
I don't have as clear a picture as you on this. Right now I'm trying to get my head around who was important between the Fate of Phoenix and Secret Wars so I'm dead set on 1981-85 to start.
