Copycat can only use the powers that your opponent chooses.
I feel like you're confused in some way. Once she swaps, she's totally under the opponent's control. If that opponent has a Smasher, then he has the easiest way in the game of reversing the swap.

Maybe I am. You're saying that if your opponent's Copycat steals your Smasher, it's easy for you to reverse it? How so?

No. I'm saying that if my opponent steals anybody else while Smasher is on my team, it's really easy to end the swap. So if I'm gonna run some insane low-cost figure that's a good target for Copycat (Brother Voodoo, Cerise, Despo, etc.), then I'm gonna also run Smasher. Either my opponent doesn't see what he can do, and he takes somebody that he's not gonna get to keep, or my opponent takes Smasher instead. Either way, Smasher is protecting my better pieces from Copycat.

Excellent design. Always use his standard powers before choosing power with his SP! Charge in with a heavy object and choose Earthbound/Neutralized to be carried away; Sidestep to move adjacent to a character that can defend him; or Invincible or Mastermind if he's stranded. If someone Outwits his SP, then you regain his printed powers.
