Give this character a power action and roll a d6; a single adjacent
opposing character is knocked back from this character a number of squares equal to the result.
When this character hits with an attack, you may choose that it generates knock back if it doesn’t already.
Option one is good for single focus with the ability to knock someone back up to 6 spaces.
Option two every attack generates knock regardless of whether you roll doubles.
Can someone explain to me how some folks here are dealing 4 or even 7 damages without even rolling? I can understand 2 damages (Knockbacked into a wall plus the damage from her trait). Or was that supposed to be a total of 4 to 5 damages from her trait alone for the entire game?
@ Escape, get next to an opposing character, use Force Blast as a free action against a wall. 1 Knock Back Damage and 1 Penetrating Damage from the trait. Now immediately use Force Blast again as a Power Action, same results, 4 total damage in one turn if they don't have any damage reducers. Didn't require a single attack. So SC and SS don't trigger, and neither does Mystics TA. Used this exact strategy against a figure that had all three the other night to great effect.
Free action Force Blast for 2. Attack (with the effects of Force Blast) for 3, then another 2 because she "used" Force Blast during the attack. But you need an attack roll for that one.
For those saying you can do the penetrating damage with an attack is wrong. Yes you can attack and choose knock back BUT you are not ACTIVATING forceblast. You are simply using its passive ability.
I've always wondered how her trait would work with the following two effects.
Number 1:
Impact Beam
Relic: 4-6.
This character can use Force Blast. A target is knocked back equal to twice the d6 roll for Force Blast. Knock back damage dealt by this character is increased by 1 and is penetrating.
Number 2:
Bulldozer (Your Color of Choice Advertised Here!)
This character can use Force Blast. When it does, it may target an opposing character within 4 squares and line of fire, and all characters adjacent to that opposing character.
In each case she can already use Force Blast. CAN she take advantage of the following lines of text after it says "This character can use Force Blast." ??
I was thinking of a barrier team and she would work wonderous synergy with it! Potential candidates include:
WOL109 Larfleeze
WXM037B Magneto
FFGOTG003 Crystal
FL057 Magenta
WXM066 Iceman
WXM040 Hope Summers (Honorable Mention for Special Attack Power: OMEGA-LEVEL MUTANT)

This piece is bonkers... in most cases you can waltz 11 squares and deliver automatic damage to whomever you please (uncounterable Invincible aside). There's no need to fiddle around with TK on the first turn here - she's an attack piece and not interested in wasting her time in a supporting role at the back bench. Send her up! You do have to mind all the Precision Strikers out there who will have no trouble hitting her top click. Use Sidestep to line up that sweet knockback just right and you can send a foe tumbling towards your other guys. Antagonize Charge and Reflexes people with free penetrating damage for her whole dial. Amazing piece, high in utility with little need for luck and very high opportunities for strategic playing.

Been playing these guys for a few months now and I have to say, if you don't want to think about odds but you really want to win, it can be done with this bad boy..for instance 2 of these guys and any other tie up figure or secondary attacker/harasser or 2 can totally frustrate opponents. the cat is out of the bag with a recent ROC finish. but picture the cop car teams of old..

With the Red Tornado ID card now available, this piece may provide a cheap and easy counter to Colossal Retaliation (I'm thinking in particular of Solaris with it's stupid 19 defense).
Update to my own previous question. I tried posting it, reworded sometimes, on the WizKids forums. They kept deleting it time and again. I posed the EXACT same question on Reddit and got many helpful replies.
Reply from user (aradraugfea) "The words to look for are something like 'in this way.' For example.
Imaginary Relic: Relic (1-6) This character can use force blast. When using force blast this way, roll 3d6 and knock back the opponent a number of squares equal to the result.
Imaginary Trait: This character can use force blast as a free action. When using force blast in this way, opposing characters ignore blocking terrain and destroy squares of blocking terrain they travel through and take 1 unavoidable damage for each square of blocking terrain they break in this way.
You can use one or the other, but their special riders wouldn't stack. If it's just something like 'When this character uses force blast, win the game' then the free action force blast from the trait would still trigger it."
Reply from user (ManiacClown) "The distinction they've drawn is really a bunch of grammatical hair-splitting. When they have a construction like "Character can BLAH. When it does…" that's referring to that particular BLAH. In the Bulldozer's case, it refers to using Force Blast from it, as does Black Tom Cassidy's special damage power.
SHILLELAGH HEAT: Blast Black Tom Cassidy can use Force Blast. When he does, he deals half the result of the d6 roll as penetrating damage after actions resolve.
Compare this to a "Character can BLAH. When character BLAHs…" construction. The second clause doesn't depend on the first. When the "When it" part can stand alone from the first and still make sense, you can combo things. You could combo the Impact Beam and Black Tom because the Impact Beam's alteration of knockback damage doesn't depend on anything prior to it. As for altering the amount of knockback, that I'd have to check on."
Reply from user (Bentley82) "Impact ring would not work as you state. In fact, both options have the same caveat under previous rulings based on choosing which power to use.
However, I think her trait would allow either to be used. What is important about her trait is the period after "Red Tornado can use Force Blast normally or as a free action." From there, it says 'When she activates Force Blast, after actions resolve, if the target is still adjacent to her, deal that character 1 penetrating damage.'"
It does not say where the force blast has to come from. So it could work from any source she gets it from. Free action FB from trait, 1 pen damage, action to activate ring FB, 1 pen. Action resolves, trait activates and deals 1 pen. Depending on knock back damage, you can do up to 6 damage, 3 of which is penetrating. Nice."
All good news for her comboing her power with the added benefit of the relic or construct.
