He's about as mediocre as a figure gets in this environment. Nonetheless, I love Pete and needed to pick one up. If he had just had front-loaded precision strike or psychic blast, he would've been playable. Otherwise, I'm not spending 79 points on a leader for a team that was already pretty janky.
The comparisons between this guy and the 110/115-point GOTG Star-Lords seem a bit unfair. For his point range, his only rival is the 75-point GOTGM Starter Star-Lord: a good piece, but not a clear-cut superior figure in every regard. Consider the plight of a new player or a new fan of the Guardians! I'm glad they can get this guy from a local event rather than having to hunt down the sold-out starter set version.

I don't understand all the bad comments about what might be still my favorite Star-Lord to date...okay, I understand the ones from before the leadership change, but even back then, the combo of combat value boosting leadership and relative cost efficiency put him on most of my GOTG keyworded teams and still does.
