But I like Vindicator. I just wish she had lower damage and higher attack value. And that she was only 80 points. Right now you can only use her in theme teams, and you need AP and AF feats...

EDIT: She's no good now that she can be compared to LE James Hudson. Lower AV, DV, speed... there's no reason apart from theme to choose her now.

Vindicator is a great niche figure. Her role as leader of Alpha Flight fits her perfectly. Inspiring Command is a must and with it she makes the Alpha Flight theme team tournament worthy. Mobility is a plus and she is easy to heal with a dial that is decently long. As a straight-up attacker she is weak, suffering from low stats – but she is a solid secondary attacker providing support instead of front line power, just like in the comics.

The newer version beats her anyday.

She is the inspiring command queen though.

Her attack is too low for 104 points, her husband is better, but I've always liked her character.

A great piece for armor piercing with 8 range, double targets, and 10 move running shot. She benefits from the Alpha Flight card, but also T-bolts. Her late dial ES-D complements her range well.

I might play her with inspiring command to front an Alpha Flight theme team.

Horrible sculpt, but a great figure.
Best with an Armour Piercing card.

Ahh, all those old reviews. Two+ years later, let me just pop in to point out the mediocrity of this piece. Damage is fair enough still. I mean, a bit on the low side, but she's a ranged attacker, and should be fine if you utilize that on the first three clix.

But, ugh, those Attack and Defense numbers. Attack especially. Over 100 points to start with a 9 attack and drop to a 6? Only playable with the Alpha Flight TA, and even then, for 99 points, the LE Vindicator from SN is better and cheaper.

She's cool to use on a Alpha Flight theme team at a larger point value, but if you can only afford one Vindicator? Use her husband. It's not her fault, she's just past her prime.

Although I agree we DESPERATELY need an update on heather hudson, I actually like this figure. Yes her attack values are pretty low as well as defense....but that's what the alpha flight ATA is for, also you should always have at least the vet and experience shaman on a flight team for perplex,outwit and support.

Look at what your getting for 104 points. Sure her defense drops but she has one click of invulnerability, reducing her damage massively. Three clicks of toughness and four in energy/shield deflection. So she's not going down in one shot with all those reducers. Two clicks of running shot really help her get her attacks out there. Effectively giving her a 13 range! Her HIGHLIGHT would be a power everyone tends to overlook. Energy explosion and TWO bolts. I have to admit if they gave her a full dial of EE with only one target......my appreciation for this figure would drop dramatically. However they boosted her overall effectiveness and use by allowing her to target two opponents with energy explosion. And she is guaranteed at least one shot at it considering she has EE nearly her full dial. Its a wonderful thing I shooting two targets that are adjacent to two more targets dealing four damage on the two....and one each to the adjacent targets.......please whizkids....update alpha flight

My favorite Alphan doesn't get an update in the IIM set. :(

Actually....she sorta DID receive an update! Compare this old unique dial to the experienced guardian dial from the IIM set. They are virtually identical! Double bolt energy explosion, energy shield deflection and toughness! The veteran guardian from the same set has no reducers and looks nothing like the experienced. In fact as soon as I pulled the experienced guardian I ripped his sculpt off and glued Heather on it!

I want to do this with mine, but I don't want it to be a complete hack job. Maybe I can find a tutorial of how to do it properly.

Well I pulled multiple guardians but only had one heather Hudson. So I patiently, carefully cut guardian at the base of where his electrostatic meets with the seperate black plastic mini base. I didn't want my only heather to be permanatley glued on the base so I got an extra golden aged clear plastic flight peg and glued it on. Now I can attach heather to her old dial or remove her and put her on the new guardians dial.

There are more permanent ways to do this. Some players hate the old flight pegs, you can get an extra iron monger 2.0 and removed his yellow energy from both his butt and fist. Remove the attachment peg from heathers foot and glue her to the yellow energy then attach everything to guardians base. For extra effects you can add mongers yellow fist energy to heathers hand. The new booster gold has a easily removable energy blast that looks good on heather....but I love the more traditional 'yellow' energy color.

Even with the flight peg my heather Hudson actually turned out REALLY good! She looks natural next to the vet guardian and her teammates. She's got more field experience than Mac so her leadership is perfect!
