I chose gangsters as the mafia because a lot of my favorite villains come from crime dramas, so it just fit to lump them together, plus there's a diversity of characters that appealed to me.
In retrospect, I maybe should've made the mafia stronger. A lot of what held them back was bad luck, but I still feel like I should've given someone lynch protection or something.
JohannaMason: -You are Frank Castle/The Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal on Netflix’s Daredevil. A former soldier turned vigilante after a tragedy took your family from you, you have been invited to this city alongside several criminals, and you’re going to take out as many of them as you can before this whole thing ends. Your powers are: Penny and Dime: Each night, you must send me a target. Using your military training and extensive arsenal, you will kill them. Bang: If you are ever targeted for a night kill by someone, you will kill them instead of your intended target.
You are the serial killer. You win when you are the last player left alive.

Again, bad luck for the scum. Or I gave away too much in the write-up. A failed night-kill seems like something that should go in there, yeah?
charlesx: -You are Cora Mills, played by Barbara Hershey on ABC’s Once Upon a Time. Both the miller’s daughter from Rumplestiltskin and the Queen of Hearts from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, you’re a powerful sorceress who’s used her vast abilities to climb to power and ensure your future, no matter what realm you call home. This city is no different, as you will use your magic to take control, one person at a time. Your powers are: Heart Control: Your signature move. Each night, you may send me a target. You will remove and take possession of that person’s heart, controlling them and adding them to your new Court. This person’s alignment will shift to yours and you will be able to communicate and coordinate with them outside the game. Take note, however, that you may only control town members, not mafiosos or other neutrals.
You are the cult leader of the Court of Hearts. You win when all threats to you are eliminated.
Rokk_Krinn: -You are Bill Cipher, voiced by Alex Hirsch in Disney’s Gravity Falls. A demon from a two-dimensional plane, you have longed to enter the third dimension and take over, often making deals with the people of Gravity Falls, Oregon to do so. Now in this new city where weirdness seems to abound, you’ll try your trade here, shake a few hands, and have some fun on the way. Your powers are: Dreamscaperer: Though you can’t enter this dimension, you can visit its inhabitants in their dreams. Each night, you may send me a target. You will attempt to make a deal with this person. The outcome will depend on whether or not you succeed.
You are neutral and win when you have successfully made a deal with someone, or when you’ve exhausted all your options and returned to the Falls.

RenegadeRoy: -You are Robot Santa, voiced by John Goodman and John Dimaggio in Fox’s/Comedy Central’s Futurama. If he was targeted by a night kill, he would survive it, with 24 dying and 21 remaining with one vote. 21 would then "reinvent himself" take on a new role based on whatever the town needed: doctor, roleblocker, or vigilante.
Good game, everyone. Glad to see that my recruits got to win with the town. I had unbelievably bad luck targeting recruits who got killed off (sometimes the same night). Well, this was my first mafia game in months so naturally I made a ton of newb mistakes. At least it let me get back into it.
Merci, St. Dumas, for running the game - and again congrats to all the winners!!!

In retrospect, I maybe should've made the mafia stronger. A lot of what held them back was bad luck, but I still feel like I should've given someone lynch protection or something.
Or at the very least let us know who we had janitored so we had claims
Yeah, I pretty much claimed the last day because I really didn't deserve a win here, even if I could have held out for several more days (which I doubt). This game just kept being open when I wasn't free, so I was less active than I usually am, and considering I'm know for being quiet early on...
However, on a personal level I consider this a win - I personally killed off the head of the cult! How could that NOT be considered a Grinner win?
I just realized that all of the thee members of Grinner & Co. (I really hope that catches on) were all different alignments. Kind of cool, if you ask me.
Suppose part of that's on me, friend. I really should have proofread some of the roles better.
As a consolation, here's a song to listen to if you've seen the GF season 2 finale (or at least part one).
I couldn't use the link but I assume it's like the Cipher clip I was going to post. I still see Bill as a winner and dibs on him for second season.
Also, even if he cheated, kudos to loganspeedo for deciphering. It was a 3-switch Caesar Cipher using a Vignere Key. No post restriction other than I thought I was free to go full Bill.

Well, anytime that you are not lynched when you are away is a Grinner win, ain't it?
And as far as offing me..... just you wait. I'll get you, my pretty - and your little dog, too!!
