The article is not just about choosing between the a and b, it's a deep analysis into what each dial brings to your table, and analysis that quickly bleeds over into general deployment tips. And it's second half is all about prime vs prime comparison, a very clever addition unique (pardon the expression) to the rank's format
This is a great article series
What he said. This is an incredible article series, with very detailed analysis. Thanks for taking the time to do this!
Little known Prime Jaina Hudson jltw069bt heralds a hidden power, her attached figure, the Ultra Chase. I'd love a breakdown on how relics, equipment and teams could use her.

She's not a Prime. Her green ring is for the original use of that color: bystander tokens.
I know you were trying to be clever, but please get your details right before someone calls out a White Rabbit player for using another Prime on their team.

I choose Primes by the following criteria:
-DC vs. Marvel (switching back and forth between each article).
-Different set than last time (usually Modern Age).
-*Usually*, different rarity than last time.
-Interesting comparison.
That last point tends to skew away from obvious answers in either direction, though once in a while I tackle those anyway (Baron Blood, anyone?)- it's fun to shine a spotlight on an unused Prime, or to make the Prime comparison the focus rather than the head to head.
Part of the common results you point out is that Primes tend to be more expensive. They also tend to use more niche strategies; sometimes those strategies are more trouble than they're worth, even if they are great.
Finally, this is not an analysis of which is better, but which is more essential for your collection. That's what brings me to the occasional both conclusion: sometimes the Prime and the standard version address vastly different holes in your collection, and truly both deserve to be in your tacklebox. (Superman II vs. Brutaal)
If you're reading this to figure out who the 'winner' is, you're missing all the analysis, content, and interesting discoveries I spend hours developing. Especially in this article- comparing the X-Men Primes across two uses is unique, and might save a few players from the compulsion to get every Prime just for a 5 point Stop click (because only 1 of your X-Men can use that ability per game).
In writing these, I have convinced myself several times that I need a Prime figure I'd previously ignored, despite my final conclusion. Maybe you're only interested in owning 'winners', and if I looked at it that way, I could see where these would feel pretty 'silly'.
I can appreciate that this article discusses which of the 2 is more essential for a collection, and in most cases it would reason that the non prime is more essential simply due to the fact that the prime usually represents a more niche representation of said character, or a completely different character that is also niche. Still, of the primes that I see, I usually find most of them highly desirable. I eagerly await the next article so I may make a quick prediction as to which you deem to be the more desirable piece.
