I can see some merit to free pulse waving on your first turn against your own team. There's a lot of figures who's starting clicks I hate, so... Let's get rid of those *Sidesteps then Pulse Waves*

Win / Loss: 3-4 Riptide is a phenomenal tertiary harasser. Free pulse-wave is a boon on any team. A great way to get past Perplexes, finish off mystics, etc. 11 move PW (or just carry him ) has great reach and he can attack every turn. The short range makes him even more lethal as he can blast around his teammates. 45 points for this?!?! So good. (Update 2021: House of X breathes a little life into this old boy. Still pretty decent 5 years later).

Riptide x4, Vanisher x2, Blue Battery w/ Crossbow, Boxing Glove, Wall, and Bulldozer. 298 points, Marauders theme with a +6 to initiative roll. The entire team can get basically anywhere on the map by turn 2. All Riptides get a construct. Perplex from being a Corps member makes for 8 potential damage per turn plus, maybe, knockback damage if the Wall and Bulldozer are deployed correctly, all without taking a single non-free action. You're welcome ;)

I'm thinking for fun, 5 riptide, vanisher, and proteous as a possessor, since I don't own any batteries.

His short range free pulse wave is great in action. Used vanisher to help with positioning and then unleashed riptide and worked him weaving around teammates. ESD also a plus to manage ranged counter attacks.

Riptide is the Marauder "surgeon". He starts chipping away opponents' clicks, building up to that big fat kill sponsored by the Mutant Massacre Trait. He is a graceful and deadly dancer...

Played him this weekend on a ROC team equipped with Proteus. Nasty.
