lets say i have Pandora's box and sloth on my team. could i then pay the 8 points to assign the sloth relic, then on my first turn equip the sloth relic from the resource?
i consider most relics as a unique but is this a cute loophole?
No you cannot do that. Not unless a game effect allows you to include that Sloth relic on your force while also having a resource.
Rulebook pg. 21:
Quote
When you include a resource on your force, you
may not include any special objects on your force.
Also special objects are unique. It's even stricter than the character unique as it looks at the name only.
Rulebook pg. 20:
Quote
Any or all of the objects on your force may
be special objects, but each special object must
not have the same name as any other special
object on your force.
And this is why it's important to quote effects. Because if you don't, you mind get a wrong answer.
SINFUL INFLUENCE: When you build your force, you may assign the JLTW #S102 Sloth relic to a friendly character without the Seven Deadly Sins keyword by paying its cost. This object doesn't count towards your force.
The scenario you describe is completely legal, provided you have two physical copies of the Sloth relic to assign.
[C]Unless specified otherwise, characters may only use the effects of one copy of a given non-character game element. If the character could use the effects of multiple of the same game element, only the effects of one of those game elements can be used. For example, a character using the effects of a Green Lantern Ring via being a Friendly Corps member would ignore the effects from a duplicate Green Lantern Ring it is assigned via another game effect.
So you could have 2 sloths but only equipped to two different clix?
1. In Heroclix "equip" is a specific term that does not apply here.
2. You can assign the 2 sloths to the same figure, it just won't do anything more than 1. Strategically, it is best to assign them to different figures.
