I do like a return to Giant-Size FF form with the latter half of this dial, but he's a bit rich for being an uber-support piece for the X-Men. However, with one successful SC roll, your entire X-team becomes target-proof. He'll be good to use with Colossals (Phoenix, Dark Phoenix). He's the cheapest Modern MC-based X-Man for WF Prime Superman, as well.
Should've had 18DV straight through the dial, considering he only has 4 clicks and 0 damage value. 10 range with no move and attack, no damage, and 4 clix can't cost THAT much. With how prevalent 18DV was in SMWW and WF, this is pretty inexcusable. I really doubt he'll even get to those last clicks to make any use of that damage power.
GSX FF Prof X from 4 years ago is a million times better. This one doesn't even have the Illuminati keyword!
"I remember you said to me once, you said... 'if death ever comes your way and won't let you pass... make sure you scream right back in his face"
His prolonged outwit power is amazing. I played him today in a sealed and did better than I ever have and won games because of the ability to nuke annoying powers. The roll at the beginning of the turn comes in handy because after you've outwitted what you want and smacked their people around you can hope for a chance to move the mind control gimmick onto someone who's more of a threat. There's no reason for him to ever not be on an xmen theme team in my opinion.
I have a question on his outwit power. It says for the activated power action they don't need to be in line of fire but still in his 10 range right? Then it says to maintain it they need to be in his range. So basically after you attach the mental lock marker to someone you have to make sure that Xavier's target stays in his range to maintain it but not necessarily his line of fire?

Yes, no line of fire required but still within his 10 range is all it requires to have that constant outwit.
I would say yes, obviously if you lose the roll the marker comes off. But let's say your opponent who you've outwitted is 9 spaces away, the moment you break that 10 range you "break the link".
@SavageHulk "Professor X can use Outwit normally or as a Power action. If activated as a Power action, he does not require line of fire and you may attach the Mental Lock marker to the targeted character. While the Mental Lock marker is attached, the effect of this Outwit doesn't end and Professor X can't use Outwit."
The bold part is the answer to your first question. The answer to the second question is as Dr Caspian said, if you move outside the 10 range.
At first Chuck is kinda lame, and a little bizarre given he has an attack value without being able to do damage, but hear me out- what if you give him the Omega Drive? 10 range where you can outwit one thing you want, regardless of line of fire. Want to keep it up for as long as possible? Power action and attach the Mental Lock for extra grief.
Yes, the Omega Drive is awesome since it may counter powers which could not have been countered otherwise; but I personally like it because it enables you to Outwit without LOF... which seems to be redundant with You Don't Want To Do This. I think this is a good piece on its own, providing boosted Outwit and 10 range Mind Control which eventually enables Erase You From Your Enemies' Minds .
Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn... don't worry guys... that's just the way I sneeze...
I really didn't want another Chuck after AvX, but that Shi'ar keyword... ugh, fine, I'll hit evilbay for his sake and try him out. He'll probably suck, but I guess WXM Lilandra can pick up his slack.
