Welcome​ ​to​ ​the​ ​Countdown​ ​to​ ​the​ ​2016​ ​ROC​ ​World​ ​Cup.​ ​Each​ ​week​ ​we’ll​ ​be​ ​taking​ ​a​ ​closer​ ​look at​ ​one​ ​of​ ​the​ ​many​ ​events​ ​that​ ​will​ ​be​ ​running​ ​throughout​ ​an​ ​entire​ ​weekend​ ​of​ ​‘Clix!

The next event we’ll be looking at will be the Friday Afternoon Super Qualifier. This event will be another chance to collect ROC (TCGplayer) Points or a Semi Final Bye before the big events start for the weekend. It is also the only big event over the weekend that uses the 400pts Modern Age Format.

Time: Friday 12pm

Cost: $25

Format: 400pts Modern Age

Gameplay: This special event will be run like a standard ROC Super Qualifier with one small difference. In the interest of offering the most amount of gaming for our players throughout the weekend we will be forgoing the top cuts for this event and instead will just run 5 Rounds of Swiss Play. This way we run less risk of having a schedule conflict with the Quarter Finals which will be starting later in the evening, and players will be able to play in both.

Each player will come with a pre constructed 400pts Modern Age team. This allows players to use all game elements in the Modern Age of Heroclix (you can find the full list of Modern Age Game Elements Here) in a larger format than the standard 300pts. It will also be following all Standard ROC rules which can be found Here.

The tournament will be five 45-55 min rounds of Swiss Play. At the end of the fifth round the top players will be announced and the prizes will be distributed.



Prizing:

* 1st Place - 20 points + Championship Bye to Semi Finals or a Regional bye into Single elimination Finals, set of dice and 2 tokens + map, trophy, HC Realms Gold Membership, Top 8 ROC pin + LE

* 2nd Place - 20 points, set of dice and 2 tokens + map, Top 8 ROC pin + LE

* 3rd/4th Place - 10 points, set of dice and 2 tokens + map, Top 8 ROC pin

* 5th-8th Place - 5 points, set of dice and 2 tokens + map, Top 8 ROC pin

* 9th-16th Place - 3 points, set of dice and 2 tokens

* 17th-32nd Place - 2 points, set of dice and 2 tokens


NOTE: This will be the Premiere event for the Brand New Grid Reality map designed by last year’s ROC World Cup Winner Isaac. Does anyone like Zip Lines?

Also 2016 Convention Exclusives will be in the prize kit!

This Super Qualifier will be a great way to try out a different team from your Championship one, while playing for extra points, prizes, maps and that last minute chance to earn a coveted Bye into Saturday’s Semi Finals Event.

If there are enough in attendance for more than one undefeated after 5 rounds will those two (or more) players face off to determine first?
