Looking to hang with competitive scene - 300 modern full tactics
Ok, so I previously posted a thread here about a team I created to cause headaches to my opponents, but admitted that I knew it wasn't a very competitive setup.
I loved the feedback and am looking for some more advice now regarding an upcoming competitive tournament. I do not have any players near me that I can play test against or really compare team builds with. So I decided to look here for advice and not really "net-build" but just see what others had to say.
Like my previous post, I am trying to play things that aren't too cheesy but still are unique and can cause some damage and frustrate my opponents.
I will start off with a character I love to play and fill in a couple of blanks.
I really like her trait and she has a great dial for 125 points.
I am open to possessors for her, either Brainiac or Eclipso. Yes, I know that Firestorm can nerf the possessor, so I am not too married to the idea of having to have one.
In keeping with the Past theme (not a must) and with improving maneuverability, I would like to add this girl.
Other than that, I can use a full Pandora's Box (40 points) but that leaves me just 60 to play with.
Again, I don't need to make a theme team and I don't care if I do.
I have access to just about any character from the last few sets (Marvel, TMNT/2, DC), and have War Wheel and Atom as possible retaliators so I can definitely take some advice and rebuild. I just think that Jenny is a good anchor for me and can cause some problems if supported right.
Put Sloth and Eclipso on Jenny, gives her 19 Defense Impervious, and she heals one when she does nothing. Second relic can be on any one. Give it to maybe Hank Pym? Doesn't matter, it's really just to give Jenny a 50% prob or maybe running shot on her phasing clicks. Let Hank Pym start generating bystanders to clog up and annoy while Jenny moves around and picks off (added Avenger ATA will allow Hank Pym to remove some tokens when moving to create ant swarms). Drone is there for Nick Fury and Firestorm Call Ins, and a third (so many others to choose from. I put nightwing, but I really like BvS 003 Wonder Woman at 105 with Charge Flurry Battle Fury). Star Labs Tech has TK and moves in to a nice support if needed for Jenny.
Thanks for the advice. I really like TMNT 1 Renet. She can be a shenanigan maker, that's for sure.
I also have/like Devil Dino. I just don't know if I am good enough to nuance his strengths in a competitive environment, but definitely something I wanna try out.

I really like this setup, JJ, but to be honest I am very confused on how to use Pym for Morph/Ant Swarm generation. I have to go back and read up on who I can use to Morph with him in order to generate swarms.
For instance, once he is replaced, is it permanent and he cannot come back, or is it like the new Supermen/Batmen call-ins, where I can keep switching in and out?

Understandable, but you should definitely get him in a game and try him. You can replace him with ANY figure with that trait and at that point value. That includes the entire Ant Man Box Set as well as a few others. As you swap him and the others back and forth, they generate an ant swarm EVERY TIME, so you can quickly end up with a small army of ants. It's fun for you and annoying for your opponents.

IF you have access to TMNT 2 and are set on the past theme. Why not use:
And if you have any ID cards you could throw on a SHIELD LVL 7 for peggy. But with your team I would think about IRON MAN ID and the 50 pt SR Iron Man from NFAoS.
Just my thoughts.
Rocket Raccoon: So what, "It's better than eleven percent!" What the @#$% does that have to do with anything?

I like these suggestion, thanks!
just need to procure the SR Iron Man and Renet to try them out
I recently also started playing the Ant-Man box and can really recommend it. Totally fun and surprisingly strong if you do some homework remembering some of the many possibilities it offers. Fielding two Hank Pyms, instead of just one, speeds up the spawning with a remarkable effect. The ant swarms are mean, especially if you have a way of dealing with opposing character defense - SR Nick Fury, prime Peggy Carter...
