Question: When checking for the other character that has the same name as the friendly figure, does it need to have the All-New X-Men or X-Men keywords? Does it need to also be friendly? (In reference to THESE ARE THE X-MEN I REMEMBER)
Answer: No. The other character just has to have the same name as the friendly character with the All-New X-Men or X-Men keyword. It does not need to have a shared keyword or be friendly to your force.
Question: If a characters ends up with multiple Energy Dampener tokens on their card, would one non-free action remove all of them or would it only remove one token?
Answer: The single non-free action would remove all Energy Dampener tokens assigned to the character.
Question: I have questions about this guy's special markers:
1) Can they be destroyed?
2) Do they stay on the board after the character is KO'd?
3) If 2 is yes, do you still roll for its effects?
Answer: 1) No. The Bombs are special markers, not objects or blocking terrain.
2) Yes. Nothing states to remove the markers when Anarky is KO'd.
3) Yes. Each Bomb Marker is independent of Anarky. The game effects are possessed by the individual Bomb marker (as shown by them being separate from the character and not tied to any character traits or special powers).
Question: Does the effect prevent the chosen character from just replacing it's combat values period, or can it just not replace to a value higher than its printed value? (In reference to THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW: YOUR COMMENT)
Answer: When calculating its combat values, the chosen character can't have have a final calculation be higher than its printed value when applying replacements and/or modifiers. It can still have its calculated combat values be lower than the printed value when applying replacements and/or modifiers.
Question: 1) Does the ClixFX Marker placed in a characters square still have to follow other barrier placement restrictions such as drawing Line of Fire and being placed in clear terrain?
2) Is the Light Wall marker considered a wall for all game effects?
BARRIER Give this character a power action; place up to 4 blocking terrain markers in distinct, adjacent squares of clear terrain that are all within this character’s range (minimum range value 4). At least one of the terrain markers must be within line of fire when it is placed. The terrain markers remain until the beginning of your next turn.
Question: Does the "with" in this effect mean the friendly character has to "possess" the Police team ability or that they just "can use" the Police team ability? (In reference to NEW YORK’S FINEST)
Answer: The friendly character must possess the Police team ability.
shame about rival. of course he still has his other to gain tokens if he's knocked back to sidestep before pulling off a successful charge, but that changes his play a bit. I can see how they're grouping the clauses to come up with that answer but I would've seen it be general enough language to allot for a sidestep then punch to gain tokens
anarky is a big ruling, establishing the separate text we're seeing for the first time on cards in JW as making a distinctive game effect.
That's been the ruling since the Flash set came out. I was trying to find a previous ruling, but it looks like they may have deleted it. You can check the forums here to see that the ruling is nothing new.
