it's a shame he wasn't designed in mind with this set's waller that frees up the squad's need for adjacency tactics. ignoring waller, he's a solid fighter using his resources, but lacks the team support flag should have. good dial, but missing his character
sad to think we have three iterations of Captain Boomerang, who all outclass Flag. He's decent for the points, just not the Rick Flag I'd hope we would of gotten.
This is what I've been waiting for, all this time?
I mean, I'm glad I finally get a Colonel Flag, but what a total downer of a character that has literally gone toe to toe with Batman. Hopefully, we get another that is at least halfway decent soon.
In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight, let those who worship evils might, beware my power...Green Lanterns light.
I agree, this is not a representation of Flag from the SS at all. He fought Batman to a standstill. His goal is to get the job done whatever the cost. To wait so long and this is what we get?!? That's upsetting.
Definitely not a bad figure for 60 points, but I find myself wanting just more and willing to pay extra points for it. I mean, the Precision Strike is really nice, as are the end-dial Sidestep/RCE...but shouldn't Rick also have Leadership and the ability to remove tokens from any Suicide Squad keyworded figure? And the dial of Willpower help a lot...but shouldn't rick be Indomitable with alternating ESD and CCR? It's like vanilla-with-sprinkles Rick when you really wanted to add gummy bears to your vanilla-with-strawberries Rick. Not going to turn it down, but the experience is a bit lacking.
The major thing that's missing for me to make it feel like Rick is that he should really have a trick like the Batman Family ATA provides: being near him provides staying power (Willpower, a defense boost, something along those lines), being away from him provides a mission oriented boost (attack, range, speed, Sidestep, Stealth, or hell, Colossal Stamina...something like that). He's a battlefield commander: he doesn't really need Outwit or Perplex outright, but having the Squad boost him rather than having him boost the squad is the part that's really sticking in my craw.

Feb 2015: JL Trinity War has have given us the CSA, playable and together. Twice. ROCK ON!
REClixed: Justice for Dmitri Pushkin (your sacrifice will not be forgotten)! New generic Rocket Red @50-75 points while we're at it? Still no 19DV Defender? (WoS Groot doesn't count)
Power Girl AND Bust.
surprised nobody's mentioned how well this guy combos with Fiddler. sitting on a permanent 20def as long as he's next to him, possibly 21 with another next to him.
WIN/LOSS: 1-0 Rick Flag is a piece you can play aggressively but needs to be played smartly. An insanely low defense means either defend or careful positioning behind allies is needed to keep Rick alive. Fair cost for what he brings, I wish he had some support ability to make him a piece to reach for in low to mid-build Suicide Squad teams. Leadership, Perplex, or giving out a bonus to the Squad, even with an increased price would have made him great.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
