First of all is this guy undercosted or what?
I mean I know there are others that pack even more pang for your point, but 80?
Okay question is:
In the following setup how much damage would U be dealt if U is an I targeted hit character(just for fun we'll say he has armor or robot keyword), L is Living lightning and Tt+ are seperate targeted characters. X is clear terrain.

would U take splash damage three times? Would T t or + take any splash?
Read a lot of threads on EE But couldn't quite figure this out.

The AoE these days only effects untargeted characters. If no characters are untargeted in the AoE then they are only damaged using the attackers' base damage.
U could be hit for 5 but only if the base is allocated at "U".
I've completed collecting the IC, CT, XP, CM, Ult, MM, FF, AW, Sin, SN, AVE, M&M, SI, HoT, WoS, GSX, CA, IH, GG, AVM, CW, M10th, ASM, IM3, WK11-16, FI, WX, T:DW, CA:WS, IIM, DoFP, DP, GotG, AoUM, AoU, AVAS NFAoS, CACW, UXM, SFoes, DXF, GotG2, ADW, WI, MT T:RM, AI SW:B, EX, ABPI and X:DPAS sets.
Looking to get PR Professor X (W/X-Men) and pre-release "IC" Wolverine.

So that is what's meant by :
Energy Explosion
When this character is given a ranged combat action, an area of effect may include all untargeted characters that are adjacent to one or more targets that are assigned at least 1 damage from the attack. Hit targets are dealt damage normally, other hit characters are dealt 1 damage for each [target/lightning bolt] printed on the character's base.

Yes, that is how the new EE works.

Ee is my favorite ability to explain. Here it goes.
First you choose your targets, for maximum damage make sure none of your targets are adjacent. You do this because the line "an area of effect may include all untrageted characters." then after you roll you assign damage, assuming you hit all your targets every character adjacent to the characters assigned at least 1 damage will be dealt 3 damage.
In your scenario you would be doing a total of 6 damage assuming you rolled a hit that hits everyone. If you had chosen to only target character t you would be doing 12 damage.

Really? cause I was/am little drunk when I typed that.
Yeah because of the dividing dealt damage and his damage being three. And I can tell you're a bit loopy, otherwise you would have given me the credit I deserved in assigning 8 damage in my scenario.

Yeah I missed the armor robot key word stuff. If they were are robots and you just target t you would do a total of 20 damage if I understand his trait right.

Σ( ̄。 ̄ノ)ノ. ...how? Oh you mean if you only targeted t. Not Tt+.

Yeah target "t" then assign 3 damage which becomes 5 and all other characters are dealt 3 splash damage cause lightning bolts which becomes 5 because of the trait unless I am miss applying the trait in which case 't' gets 5 and the rest get 3.

No I think you are right with 20. How do you feel this a.m.?
I think you seem to have got your head around it now but I must admit I got a bit confused reading some of the posts regarding who was getting targeted and whether they robots/armour or not.
I don't know if this is any use but here's a link to the old Energy Explosion article from when the rules changed that has a few examples of calculating damage and a brief discussion of how it works with other powers. http://heroclix.com/heroclix/a-whole...rgy-explosion/
