urgent -- Starting a game -- Multiple defensive powers?
Sorry, I've forgotten the ins and outs of this. Facing Mazahs -- first time for user and me. If Mazahs steals Def powers, which ones "stack?" I believe he has to choose one reducer, and that can be held concurrently with senses, but what of Invincible? Thanks!
To elaborate, assuming you have all these powers, you can:
1. Perplex up your Defense value on your turn
2. Roll Shape Change when targeted
3. Use Defend from an adjacent friendly character to replace your defense value(still boosted by previous Perplex)
4. Use ESD/CR to further boost your Defense value
5. Prob Control the attack
6. Roll Super Senses to evade the attack
7. Mastermind damage to another character
7. Use Invincible, Impervious, Invulnerable, or Toughness to ignore/reduce damage on the character receiving the damage(you can't ignore/reduce, then Mastermind to someone else)
--If M faces multiple different attacks against him, he can choose a different reducer/ignorer before each attack
And just a small clarification, you don't make this choice before an attack is made, you make it after the attack is determined and you're calculating damage.
So don't think that you have to announce what you're using before an attack hits, because there are definitely times when that is going to matter. An opposing figure using Blades, or a Critical Hit, for instance.

--So I could wait and see the result of both the attack roll and, say, a BCF roll before choosing a reducer/ignorer?
--Also, the fact that Invinc is being lumped in with Imperv/Invuln/Toughness has me worried on another front. I'm correct that Pen does not blast through Invinc, yes?

Yes.

Invincible ignores damage. You choose whether you wish to ignore or reduce the damage based on the effects available to you (at the time).
Penetrating/Psychic Blast and Exploit Weakness deal penetrating damage. Penetrating damage can't be reduced, but has nothing to say on the subject of being ignored.
