First of all, only one bot gets the +1 to all stats.

Secondly, the bots themselves remain if he's KO'd, but the one bot loses the +1 to stats because that is one of the effects of a power Penguin has.

Interestingly, said power can be Outwitted...

First, brainiacFTW is correct in that it is only one penguin bot who gets the +1, but even if it was all penguins there might be many reasons why (rather than just increase their stats).

1) You could now only modify their combat values +2 more
2) Outsiders and similar effects will get rid of the modification
3) It may effect interactions with other figures when comparing combat values
4) Probably a million more reason

I try not to question WHY wizkids designs dials in a specific way (or more like why didn't they do something). I do try to question how does what they decide effect its interactions with other figures/powers.

I have a question, about the first trait; you can make the action of just replacing the attack of Penguin with another figure through BAatman Enemy TA. You have to make an attack to activate it? THIS IS HOW I DEAL WITH THE BAT: Once per turn for all characters with this trait, if a character uses the Batman Enemy team ability to replace their attack value with The Penguin's, after the action resolves, you may give a Robo-Penguin a move action as a free action. Or is it just replacing and not needing to make a marked action.

You need to do some sort of action involving using the attack value. Could theoretically be a free action.

Played this yesterday in a 95pt team with Man-Bat to great effect. We were allowed 2 actions, so basically Oswald would make a penguin, Man-Bat would attack, and eventually the map was swarmed with penguins. Man-Bat would be borrowing both the defense & attack off Oswald the whole game. I did lose Man-Bat at one point, but I had enough penguins on the board that it didn't matter. I really hope I can find a way to sneak him onto more teams. This piece is so much fun!

Update for 2021: This was probably my favorite figure in the whole set. It has always been relevant. A friend of mine also loved using him, but she'd constantly push him to crank out more penguins. I cautioned her that this would make him much more vulnerable. Now she doesn't have to worry about it. Even better, he could possibly make one every turn if Willpower goes your way on later clicks. Even with that aside, now the penguins don't have to worry about pushing to death, so they can get in more attacks. Granted, this does take away other combo potential of making them die for other effects, but I never liked that tactic just thematically. I guarantee he'll be getting on more teams now.
