Was wondering if GY could take a token off of herself useing her special defence power?

Absolutely. She is friendly and has the Runaways or Young Avengers keyword, which is all the Power cares about.

Thats what I thought but just wanted to make sure as it has come up in a recent event I took part in

But, alas, she cannot take a token off of Old Lace regardless of adjacency.
