My 10-team league had our draft yesterday. I'm coming off a terrible FF year, so there is nowhere to go but up! I am excited, but I have to admit that all the news about football-induced brain trauma has begun to make me feel somewhat guilty about deriving so much pleasure from Fantasy Football.
How are others feeling? Who are your hot hands? The young players you are giving a roster spot to?
As for my Warthogs, I'm hoping . . .
--That Brady can keep it going for another year
--That Kelce can overcome the knee trouble and get some red-zone looks. Those TE points often make the difference between W and L
--That Paul Perkins is better than his preseason
I played risky and didnt pick up a rb until the later rounds, so I got Christian Mcaffrey and Kareem Hunt. I feel like both of them are going to be studs this year, especially since Spencer Ware went down for the Chiefs (WHY is there 4 preseason games?) So I got Julio Jones and Kelce in the first and second round, with Brees as my qb. I feel pretty confident about this year, but we'll see if the young guys can do anything.
Aww...jeez... I hit Jason a lot harder than that.... his name was Jason, right?
Joker, I'm running Kelce as well! I'm hoping that Brady has one more year left in him -- he got cut in our 3-keeper league and I nabbed him. I also need Gurley to be not as terrible as many suspect. I'm going with Michaels (Thomas and Crabtree) at WR. On the sleeper front, I hope Jamaal Williams comes up big, but I'm not starting him early.
. . . Aaand the season begins with a 13-point loss. If Brady, Kelce and M. Thomas routinely combine for 19.58 points, it is going to be a very long season for my beloved West Coast Warthogs.
